For 3 years I have been Keto. I love feeling 50 at 80. Yes, I live on Keto because I feel the best and am healthy at 80 years old. I eat protein first. That is what it takes! I do add Keto goodies for holidays and small tastes of Holiday only foods. I will never go off. It costs us $750 to $900+ for food at Costco because I live in Hawaii. But to feel good and not be a sick person at my age, is worth it. I can do without alot of other things. Keep health as your goal.

Shifting (or weighting) meals to the earlier part of the day, by a few hours as you described, is linked to better circadian entrainment – which supports lower inflammation and better weight regulation. Oh and better sleep obviously!
Skipping breakfast never worked for me though it works fine for my husband.
Takes a bit of experimenting to figure what works best for yourself.

Give yourself some credit girl you did not crash and burn, got off course maybe, a failure would be gaining all the weight back and learning nothing! The realization has equaled in self reflection and correction, your paradigm has shifted! Power on and never surrender.
Thank you for this pep talk , we all learn at some point what works for us. I’m doing fasting up and down days plus 24 hour fasts, and my stubborn weight is finally shifting off. I make myself a keto / carnivore cheesecake sometimes with berries or none but equally satisfying my sometimes sweet tooth.
I’m not being negative but are you going to be able to eat and work out like this for the rest of your life? Because whatever you do to loose weight and be healthy has to be something that you can and will do the rest of your life.. that’s my personal experience now that I’ve gained back 20 lbs just by eating a little more and not exercising daily 😭
Is the food cost for a month, or a year, or every three months?
Have you tried time restricted eating? (Intermittent fasting). As well as keto this made a big difference for me and I not only lost the weight but my blood sugar levels are low too.

That was part of what threw her off ultimately…..she did too much fasting without enough feasting. AdF would not be good for her now

@Sharon Boyer Oh, for a family. I thought per person. It is a little better in Texas, but I buy for two. I am over 65, I get around better now and I feel better. I am not sure if I pay more or less for food. Not buying the processed food is saving money, buying more meat costs more. I think my food costs are less now.

The nice thing about Costco in Maui is I found the prices are the same as in CA, I don’t know how they do it, but they do have great prices.

@Jennie Adams I would say she has been doing plenty of feasting the last two years after reaching her goal. She regain 70 pounds. She never made it a life style and had no plan on how to maintain her weight after reaching her goal. It was like well I made my goal now I can go back to eating the way I used to. I hope and pray she can find her way again and be successful. Tell me what ADF means please. Thank You.
