Dr Dray is really our online dermatologist 😂😂
My favourite kind of YouTuber are ones who are board certified dermatologist, empathetic and imparting great knowledge to people and that’s Dr dray ❤️
I hope she reads this
@Ellie Bates 😀
Eek, so today, for the first time (besides holidays) I got my partner to use an spf! We’re talking about a guy in his mid forties who has spent life washing in apple cider vinegar and thought parabens, vaseline and spf were bad. This week I’ve got him not only cleansing with cerave, but using freaking spf. I cannot get over this. All thanks to you Dr Dray and your channel! He’s been watching with me on an evening..the info is going in! It’s going in! We’ve subscribed..now..sunscreen! Yay!!!
loved your point about preserving function of the skin, not just cosmetic benefits. It’s one of many reasons skincare haters need to learn, like ppl who think we only do this because we’re “afraid of aging.” they’ll be scared too in a few years ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Wow, thank you!
Hey Dr Dray, thank you for this video! I’ve been experiencing a lot of mental fatigue and some depression due to dealing with the coronavirus (I’m sure I’m not alone in this!) it has affecting my food and alcohol habits. I feel like I’m drinking much more than I should 😖 I would love a stand-alone video explaining how these bad habits affect the skin. I know it has been touched on in other videos, but a reminder would be helpful. I feel like I’m doing good from an outside sense, I always wear sunscreen and put moisturizer on damp skin, but I feel like I’m messing my skin up from the inside…a video showing how detrimental that is will help as a kick in the butt to jumpstart some healthier habits.
I actually tried the pipette mineral sunscreen since you approved it in your review video and I love it!!!! The cast fades quickly on my medium skin (plus applying it in divided small amounts of course helps). Waaaayyy better than all other zinc sunscreens I’ve tried tho where the white never fades. Definitely will be repurchasing.
it’s an ORGAN
It’s also under $10 at target compared to $16 from their website in case anyone’s interested!
Can you do a video on dehydrated skin versus dry skin, how to tell the difference and best skin routine for both. Thank for all your wonderful information, you’re a delight to watch.
Dr Dray has videos on dry skin and at least one on dehydrated skin. Go See Christy (esty) has a video on this, how to treat dry or dehydrated skin. Another source says, dry skin lacks water AND oil. Dehydrated skin lacks water and overproduces oil. If you’re skin feels dry in the morning and becomes slick with oil a few hours later, or if you feel like you’ve got a slick of oil on top of a brittle, dry surface, then you’ve got dehydrated skin.
I feel like Dr. Dray needs to put out a skincare line now 😂! The only person I listen to for skincare. Your channel has been a huge blessing, thank you for all the amazing knowledge 💕
I wish I knew all this 30 years ago… I fear it’s too late for me at 64 years wise ( love it)
I already have wrinkles 😩
I still have a blessed life with 4 beautiful adult children & 8 gorgeous grandchildren 😍
Love your vlogs 🤗
Love from Australia xxx
@Dr Dray 😀❤️
I would like to hear you talk about how loss of estrogen as women age causes skin changes, like loss of fat under the skin that plumps it up and smooths it. It’s important to be realistic about these irreversible changes.
When I say “my dermatologist told me” I’m talking about Dr.Dray
Thanks for the info! All mineral sunscreens cause my face to break out (I’ve tried a ton) and most all sunscreen period stings my eyes like crazy. Any recommendations for a non mineral sunscreen that won’t sting eyes? Surely I’m not the only person with these issues🤷🏼♀️
I would recommend seeing a dermo I’m 40 in Australia too
Love this, not often talked about how important moisturizer is! I’ve noticed my skin becoming dry and irritated with age, and it takes a serious moisturizer to actually be effective. Thanks for talking about diet too! xoxo
Talking of skin irritants, I recently realised that treated tap water was the source of my perioral dermatitis. I stayed in the country washing with rain water for 3 months and it cleared up. Back to town and it flared again. I’m currently using a cask of spring water on my bathroom sink to was my face until I can install water filters in the bathroom. Just thought I’d share as it’s taken years for me to find the irritant source and it might help others.
If you’re a poc then dr V on YouTube has a good skincare routine for both and goes into depth about each
Thank you for the phrase “wiser years”. There is a lot of age shaming attitudes us older gals have to put up with particularly on some of the beauty channels. I appreciate all your experience, advice and linguistic sensitivity.
Yess you did it again Andrea!👏
Best teacher on skin health, love it!😘
@yukisukine 😳😳😳 That’s actually terrifying! Imagine if you didn’t know better.
@A Wtf, seriously? You’d think a dermatologist would know how to treat all skin, not just white skin. He majored in dermatology with a minor in caucasity
@A At least he was potentially being honest, could be racist, but i rather that than someone to pretend to know what to do with ethnic/POC issues just to take my money. Hope you find a good one soon!
That’s hilarious to me considering unless they die…. they will be in our shoes one day! Not an option, it’s going to happen 😆
And how we can slow it down
Yep! She’s amazing! I can’t stand that young man Harim who’s simply a skincare enthusiast giving advice.
Thank you makes sense
Hello, my skin is so irritated and actually got pityriasis rosea and bunch of other stuff, that only happened after i changed my bathroom. Can you please tell me what filters you used?
Just a big thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us!! Love your videos, so happy I ran into your channel here on youtube!
She is quite litterly giving you an entire education on here for free
That makes sense as lots of people tend to pinpoint fluoride as their PO trigger, as most city water is fluoridated for tooth health. Take care while using fluoridated toothpaste too.
She’s not giving medical advice to you, specifically, so please don’t take it as such.
Same
Same here. Can’t afford to go to a dermatologist..I could make it work for an emergency but besides that I wouldn’t go
Thanks Dr. Dray for making videos to educate us on how to take care of our skin! This is definitely life-saving for my skin health
Ty dr dray…I’ve learned more from you in your videos in 1 month than in seeing the dermatologist for skin cancer over the last 25 years 😊
Same♥️
Very important and great to know in depth about lipids and our skin health. Would have been great if you showed some of your top moisturizers for this.
Thank you
@Sari your dermatologist would know your skin so there’s a difference. They’re able to examine it and give treatment. They’re not meant to be YouTubers giving you product recommendations. They handle the health of your skin overall and specific ailments
Just say you’re getting old. It’s not that big a deal. Having to use fancy phrases is why it’s seen as taboo
I don’t think people actually know what a personal dermatologists is for
