This is so true. When I was counting calories and being really strict on macros, I’d find myself having to eat MORE at the end of the night because I wasn’t getting what I needed! Balance is everything.
As someone who is struggling with weight being the heaviest I’ve been in life, this resonated so strongly almost to the point of tears. Forgive the run-on sentence. Instant follow, thank you for your work.
I hope she’s coming out with a cookbook!
recipe?
Is there somewhere I can find the recipe?
^I had the exact same reaction:,)
Best way I approach eating these day is to tell myself, “You can eat anything you want, but there is only so much food you can eat in a day (and you WILL feel awful if you don’t get those vitamins and minerals from fruits & vegetables!)”
Please do a series on diabetic eating and healthy food recommendations. I love your work so far!
My coach said this and it really does help. I just end up wanting to diversify my vitamins more and enjoy making things more nutritional.
RIGHT? I am scrolling through her videos and I know I will end up trying to write down what she makes because it looks so good and I suck so bad at cooking
“Sometimes you just need more balance in the diet rather than more restriction” such a perfect way to say it!
Omg I need this recipe!! Looks so good!
ye like a pie chart. the total amount is the same but proportions can be different
I just need the ingredients/recipe for this. It looks so good.
I’m at my heaviest right now too and it’s so hard working out because of my allergies. Plus it feels like i always have a cold. I’m not going to give up tho 🙂 i find portion control and listening to my body’s hunger/fullness ques really help me stay on track
“you deserve to look forward to meals”. Yes!.
It’s yakisoba. There’s lots of recipes online but basically, it’s yakisoba noodles (instant ramen is a decent substitute) with protein of choice, veggies such as cabbage, onions, carrots, and bell pepper, sauce made of Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, and sugar. Super delicious and addictive!
Oh, and oyster sauce. Forgot that until I watched the video again, lol
I wish all of you the best on your health journeys 💜
I’m 4’10” and 205lbs, but I 100% improved my health (even if I didn’t drop much weight) when I focused on balancing my diet and making sure I was getting enough variety. Like, my cholesterol improved, my liver improved, my blood sugar and blood pressure and heart rate — literally everything any of my doctors were worried about improved just because I cut out the one thing that was really hurting me (gluten) and made sure I was eating a tasty variety of foods I liked and that made me feel good, like dried fruits and homemade meatballs, or tuna pasta salad made with gluten free rotini, tomatoes, olives, and flavored white balsamic vinegar!
Nutrition is sooooo important and it’s really important to disentangle it from this fear people have, socially, of looking like me, because if you (general you) don’t, it’ll hurt both you and me. I worry a lot about people less fat than me hurting themselves to avoid looking like me, when I’m fine! Fat, yes; disabled, yes; but I’m fine, I’m happier than I’ve ever been with my body before, and if anything, that makes me more aesthetically pleasing than being skinny and miserable could ever be.
@K. Nylen absolutely sir!
@Rina Berman thanks a lot!
@L.L You’re welcome! Dang, I need to make it again soon.
Try plant based whole food on oil or butters diet….everything will start to drop…use barley in place of rice also
I love this. I’ve been recently adding more protein and fiber to my meals. More chicken or tofu, more of the healthier seeds/nuts, low fat Greek yogurt (also use this to Make my own sauces), and more high fiber veggies. It’s so much easier than aiming for goals such as “less carbs or less calories”.
Romans 10:9-10, 13 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
YESS 😭👏🏼
@Kerrie With Purpose plant based whole foods has shown to be a great way to lose weight. BUT if you (royal you, not you specifically) are not ready for it, just slowly start incorporating more and more vegetables to your meals and fruits to your snacks. Eventually you might get to a totally plant based whole food diet if that’s what you want, or you’ll find a diet that works for you somewhere on the way.
I’ve also found mindful eating has helped me figure out what I really like and what keeps me feeling good all the way through my system. Maybe even journaling what you eat and how your meals make you feel. I tried journaling and it only lasted like a week, but that “failed” attempt has made me mentally take note of how foods make me feel, even if I’m too lazy to actually write it down. That helps me eat healthy, and control portions when I’m eating unhealthy, cuz I’m familiar with the amount of Nutella I can eat without getting a stomach ache later
As a former personal trainer, I couldn’t agree more. Many of my old clients, I told them many times that they might be neglecting their protein, carbs or fat and eating less isn’t always the answer to losing weight
Years ago I read about a man who, with photo proof, successfully lost a lot of weight and maintain his new physique by following his easy 5-5-5 rules. He figured if he ate enough fruits and vegetables, he wouldn’t have room for junk anyway. The rules are simply, 5 servings of fruits, 5 servings of vegetables, and 5 miles a day, walk or run. That’s all.
Adding more vegetables and fiber to my diet has helped significantly with feeling satisfied and satiated.
@Rina Berman and tofu
This is exactly what I do and it works wonders
*recommends carbs for diabetics*
I DON’T THINK SO.🙄
Frrr I’d buy she’s uses all the foods I like
Try keto
I would love this too bc I’m diabetic
omg why is this so true
Exactly, I will focus on eating more veggies and protein but I will still have some pasta and rice with it, just not a huge portion like usual.
Reversing diabetes is all about reducing inflammation in the body. Any type of restrictive diet only exacerbates stress/inflammation and as a result, diabetes. Walking, meditation, high water intake… think more in terms of adding rather than subtracting, and you will reverse diabetes. And get tested for sleep apnea!
You literally changed my whole perspective and relationship with food. I love that now instead of feeling like I’m eating too much and that i should eat less, now when I’m unsatisfied i just check what am I not eating enough of. Now i feel like i eat so balanced and just stay satisfied for so much longer, reducing a lot on those random cravings.
You continue to have the best nutrition advice I have ever heard. I can sense that it is rooted in self love, and it’s benefiting so many people. Thank you💖
Good on you for getting out of the toxic cycle that our society pushes on us! I hope you’re still feeling good and eating well!
I’d buy it in a heartbeat
Try cutting out sugarly drinks.
that’s just forcing yourself to eat fruit and vegetables with extra steps
