Thank you for this, Bobby. I’ve been able to control my diabetes via a mostly keto diet with very few carbs, and this adds to my arsenal some options for things I crave. I used to take insulin but haven’t had to for well over a year. I love that you do this, keep it up please.
I’d really appreciate a full blown diabetic food haul. I’ve started keto, but I’m still new to it all. I’m type 1, so I want to avoid sugar and carbs at all costs.
Very helpful! I’d caution that I’ve previously done keto unsuccessfully because I deluded myself that “as long as it’s keto, I can eat whatever I want..” I’m much more successful this time because I track calories. Maybe some people can do lazy keto, but I really need to make myself accountable calorie-wise.
Thank you for this. I am 70 years young, and have always thought I was eating a healthy diet. You have taught me I was so wrong. I now am reading and re-doing my pantry. I am also pre-diabetic, have Fibromyalgia, as well as Rheumatoid Arthritis. So you are helping me to make better choices, and I really thank you.
Love this Bobby! I love it when you branch out into these specific categories. Any chance you can dive into Fatty Liver friendly foods and/or low-sodium diets
Through my nutritionist brown rice paired with a protein is actually a very good choice for someone with diabetes. The brown rice should be no more than 60 g per meal though. So for that pizza that is made with brown rice, I’d take a closer look at the actual grams of the brown rice content to really determine whether is it diabetic friendly or not.
Thank you Bobby! I am type 2 diabetic and your info really helps with figuring out what to buy at the grocery. It can be so confusing. Thank you for teaching me how and what to look for on the nutritional labels! I feel more educated now. Hugs.
You saved my life Bobby. You taught me so much about food. You’re the dad I never had. Thank you thank you
It would be great to do a video on foods avoid/safe for people with Digestive issues (GERD, IBS etc). I know what to stay away from and not eat but I do have an occasional reaction to some foods that shouldn’t cause me problems but ultimately does.
Bobby, I am diabetic and struggle with what is good and what is bad for me. Do you have a list of diabetic friendly foods, ingredients, etc and/or what to avoid?
Thank you for all you do!
I wish you would do a video on foods for people with high blood pressure. It seems like I can’t win for loosing when it comes to either lower sodium or lower sugar. Most food have one or the other but not both and it gets difficult. Thank you.
I would suggest the Lindt dark chocolate; I love the 95% and even the 100%. It is a very high quality! If one got the 85% or the 80%, it would be a lot healthier than a 70% standard for US “dark” chocolate.
Type 1?
Thank you for making this!! It’s really helped me manage my gestational diabetes, it’s been such a learning curve. Thanks for making it easier!
@Strange Universe probably type 2
Love love the diabetic videos. Been diabetic for 20 years. Down to half insulin and medications! Couldn’t of done it without you 😘 thank you! You’re a great teacher!
I’m nineteen and was diagnosed with diabetes three days ago. It’s probably type one, and your videos have made me feel so much more prepared for the rest of my life being a diabetic. Thank you so much.
I am type2. My a1c comes in around 6 (6.1 this week). I eat plant based, cook my own food. Dropped over sixty pounds with this way of eating and moving- I am old so I walk in hilly streets of my neighborhood. I do watch grains, flour, etc – beans and nuts and tofu much safer. Just cook your own healthy food and move! Love and light for everyone here.
Would love more of these! I’m not diabetic but recently discovered that I’m insulin resistant and this was so informative!
Thank you for this! I was just diagnosed as pre-diabetic and was sulking because there didn’t seem to be many choices for what to eat in a day. I love knowing I have some good options!! 😀

@Texas As Hell – Elvis Gal #TCB well I hope your doctor is knowledgeable in that area. A lot of doctors are not. Keto is one of the best things to bring your blood sugars down and also to lose a lot of weight. As simple as that! Truly go look online to see the people that I’ve lost thousands of pounds with keto. Some thing you don’t have to stay on forever but definitely will bring those numbers down healthily
@Mishelle Whitmire I do a diabetic diet that is similar that my local Diabetic Clinic gave me and I’ve dropped in 4 months 30 lbs my numbers have gone from 14 – 16 to now 6 ish or lower you don’t have to go full keto my diet is muchhhhhh less expensive healthy fats Greek Yogourt tons of veg some meats / poultry not much almond milk bran cereal no sugar at all no starches plenty of beans and lentils pretty much plus many doctors do not recommend keto I do fasting some but I am happy with my results with my diet I am healthy
@Texas As Hell – Elvis Gal #TCB Well that’s excellent! You always have to find what works for you! Keto is a really great program, however it’s not good for everybody. Listen doctors will try and keep you on medication and most of them don’t know anything about the true dietary issues of a diabetic. My doctor had to ask me what I was doing to bring my numbers down she said oh my gosh maybe I need to intermittent fast. They know nothing, we are the ones who do all the research LOL
@Mishelle Whitmire This is very true I’ve not stopped my Metphormin My doctor just retired so looking for a new MD I won’t stop it til a doc says so…. but I do know I’ve not had my numbers like before I am 55 soon so I just want to keep healthy for my Kids and Grand Daughter & Myself
Just diagnosed as severe diabetic (I blame this pandemic). Bingo, I found your channel with information and tips I SO need right now! Please keep it up.
Thank you for coming on to give diabetics the knowledge to better eating
Don’t blame the pandemic, it’s your fault but it’s ok. Start a low carb diet like keto/carnivore and you will be fine!
@Texas As Hell – Elvis Gal #TCB lol
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in January 2022. Because of videos like yours, I have successfully reversed diabetes in 3 months. I know there is more work to do to be truly healthy but I just wanted to thank you for showing me the options.
Check out Dr.Jason Fung here on YouTube, he’s also really helped me.
@Mike Scarborough no offense but it’s different when you have genetic diabetes, and genetic PCOS and more than likely (although I refused further testing), I have endometriosis. PCOS & Diabetes go hand-in-hand. So while my diabetes will go into remission, no matter what I eat, how little I eat, what supplements I take, if I take my medication, and how much I exercise, I will always have a metabolic disorder, which is diabetes so my situation is different. I don’t know how you meant this but you shouldn’t stereotype. Not everything is a one-size fits all. Health is very peculiar especially when genetics is involved and I had a grandfather on my dad’s side with diabetes type 2 and my paternal grandmother had PCOS and possibly endometriosis. I usually like to research a topic in its entirety before I make any assumptions bc you know what they say. To assume is to make an ‘azz’ out of u and me.
It’s all about the CARBS!
you should go to dr bergs channel for further information on diabetes
