We meet again gouty peeps. Haven’t had any attacks since i lost a lot of weight from intermittent fasting. Eat lots of vegies and avoid processed/ sugary food and drinks. Stay healthy
Last summer I had this twice and could not place it. Went away after 4-5 days. After watching this video, thank you, I looked it up with other dokters as well. They say two other main elements beside food what specificly indicates the acute problems, hydration and physical condition. First the uric level is raised by dehydration, alcohol, severe sweating (physical effort, summer heat), loosing weight fast from a diet raising the acids, physically; (starting) kidney problems like for example starting kidney stones, higher blood pressure, starting heart and vascular diseases, Insuline Resistence…. and it happens as well overnight during your sleep, in other words you wake up with it. Living in the South West of France it gets hot in the summer 30-40°C/86-104°F, a bit too much alcohol in the evening happens, some fish on the bbq, sweating a lot while doing a lot of physical work, lost 10kg last summer, I do know now I have Insuline Resistance, ok thank you it is clear to me now!!! Started a full low carb diet in december and intermittent fasting as the 1st of january. The pain that I sometimes feel in my kidney (had kidney stones 11 years ago so know the feeling) when sleeping on that side where as well my big toe had the problems is gone, no alcohol, no sugar, the fish of course is part of the low carb. So it does require a change in life style too and if persistent a visit to the dokter!

This is the first video I’ve watched today and it applied to me totally as I was having this sharp pain in my left toe that comes and goes thinking it was probably a tight shoe due I’m wearing double socks because of cold weather. A few things that have helped me: alternating between warm and cold water on affected area, tablepoon of baking soda mixed with vinegar and lemon and lime juice, apples!! Any red type I’ve seen works for me, plenty water and elevation of the affected joint.
New research also indicates Supplementation with Glycine and Tryptophan also lowers uric acid.
I also read that Cherry Tart Extract is good for gout.

I’ve had this toe pain problem since years ago. Sometimes it was so bad I couldn’t stand on my foot for days( and to mention I am petit size person, no over weight problem). Doctors couldn’t understand the problem and had no solution or explanation for it and told me I had to live with it.

@James Gabbiadini I did a quarterly extended fast, and in between fasts, I ate keto. I followed the nutritional advice on Dr Berg’s channel. When the weight loss slowed, I implemented intermittent fasting.

@EJW Only had gouty symptoms for a couple months at the beginning, and they went away. My doctor (at the time—I’ve since fired him) decided I didn’t have gout. I’ve heard this is kinda standard. Consider ACV and lemon juice in your diet. That would be starting your morning with a tablespoon of ACV in a glass of water and doing the same at bedtime and before meals. Add maybe a teaspoon of lemon to a glass of water when you drink it. That sort of thing.

Thank you very much for EXPLAINING that the acid in lemons (I’m assuming that’s citric acid) becomes ALKALINE (a base) once it is OXIDIZED in the body. None of the other doctors I watched EXPLAINED this. This is definitely very COUNTER-INTUITIVE because most people, including myself before I watched this clip, would think that ingesting an ACID (such as found in lemons) would make a problem being caused by an ACID (uric acid) WORSE. Now I UNDERSTAND why that is NOT the case!! This stuff can be TRICKY sometimes. It helps a lot when a FULL explanation is given. Thanks for doing that!!

@Dixie Huston vitamin shops or some or grocery stores. Where I live there’s a Sprouts grocery store that I find a lot of good stuff at. Also celery extract or just eating celery in general really helps prevent gout attacks. Good luck to you 🍀

The only reason I am trying stinging nettle over and above the others on Dr Bergs list without eliminating others on the list is because stinging nettle absorbs minerals from the earth and is loaded. Hopefully I’ll be mindful to share my stinging nettle experience with others in feed back. I do ACV ,Turmeric , Ginger with a pinch of red cayenne pepper in tea form almost nightly. Those ingredients help immensely. I truly experience the difference of utilizing them and not. God bless all with physical ailments a d afflictions that diminish the quality of life.
Cherry juice has fone nothing for me in ten years. Neither has ACV. Started baking soda a few days ago and the goit just moves from one place to another. Changed my diet a month ago to veggies and 30percent meat protein. Still nothinf
