Well, I am 40 yrs old, and in the last months I have been trying to get to the best shape of my life. Doing the p90x program for a few weeks, i stopped because it takes too much of my time. Then I have been doing 5×5 on deadlift, bench press, pullups, and squats/shoulder presses (idk the exact term) 3 times a week. Also I started to run 21kms per week (3 x 7kms). And I forgot, I tried to do 2 x week the 300 workout but damm, thats too hard.
Cont…Finally I think I found what I was looking for, I did the poster workout of MH Aug 2012 where you can find 3 matrix workout of this guy…I tried the first matrix, and beleive me I sweat in 30 minutes like I never sweat before (I used to be a soccer player in a semi-pro level). Wow, I will keep you posted regarding the MH poster workout, but I think thats a hell of a workout
Note: I cannot hear that guy in the poster, and true, he is scary, maybe he needs to wourkout his drama lessons 🙂
The most important part of this program is YELLING make sure you YELL while you do EVERYTHING
Don’t knock it till you try it. He’s not like this the entire time. A little motivation never hurts. I have only done the first workout and I was sucking wind big time. I have done many HIIT workouts. This is structured well. Looking forward to the next workout.
I’m glad I bought this DeltaFit series before I saw this video. May not have otherwise and it would have been a mistake. I was contemplating between DeltaFit and P90X. I felt P90X was going to take too much time. This DeltaFit program is super charged 30 minutes per workout and it’s as hard as you see on the video clip. It is not for everyone, believe me. I don’t mind his semi yelling, it keeps me pushing very hard. Look, he’s actually talking/ yelling while doing the workouts. Try that.
Let me just add to my comment below: I’m almost 47 and fairly fit because of my cross fit training. Already at phase 1 I’m pushing new personal limits, 184 max HR and 150 ave HR for 30 mins (per my Polar HR monitor). After the hard 30 min work-out, it feels so good.
Does anyone know if this workout is legit or not? I mean, I’m sure it is a good workout but I want to know if you can still get big and gain mass or if this is just going to slim you down?
I used to be overweight 340 i naturally lost over 100 lbs im now 215. Ive tried athlean X my body looked pretty much same. I have some loose areas around waistline an back, if i order this program do you think it will work?
Definitely. Gets your heart pumping. Some of the workouts add a variety of dumbbell exercise that you can really up the intensity by upping the weight. They can be grueling but are structured so that you get enough rest between exercises so you can do each one to the max. I enjoy these workouts. Which makes me look forward to the next one. You will definitely burn fat with this. Plus it covers all body parts. Strength, core, plyo, and more leg exercises than I thought.
It’s not for the muscleheads. But it will build muscle. It’s well worth the 60 or 70 bucks. You just need some dumbbells, fitness ball, a step or a plyo box. I love working with kettlebells and bodyweight workouts. But I’m always looking for a well structured workout to follow. It just pushes you more. Gotta have variety. Keeps you coming back. There is also 4 other dvd’s to do after the 3 phases. You can’t go wrong picking up this program. Do it!

I started phase 2 of Speed Shred the other day. I went from 301.6 lbs to 289.3 in the 4 weeks of phase 1. There is definitely more definition in all my muscle groups. Phase 2 ups the intensity so I imagine I’ll have even bigger gains as I go through the program. The only change to my diet was total calories to 2000/day.
Speed Shred is worth the buy. You’ll burn fat, build lean muscle, look and feel better with 30 minute work outs. I like B.J. He’s not like this in every video.
just my advice, to try and loose fat . a change of diet is necessary, look up intermittent fasting. keep an open mind, its worked really great for me 😀 even though i do slow low intensive muscle building workouts im losing fat like a machine and gaining muscle.. again just my advice (:
BJ is definitely not like this in every video. I bought this recently and love it. These are just some small clips of him being hyped up. I think he is really good.

I am sure this is an effective workout and there are reasons why it commands a lower price than Beachbody. Â The Men’s Health trainer is simply not as appealing as Tony Horton or Shaun T or the number of other trainer celebrities they employ. MH and others also follow the trends that BB picks up on and promotes in their new workouts. The production from MH seems somewhat amateurish compared to BB as well. But that said, if they charge half the price for a very similar program, it might be worth it. Especially if you get the same results.Â
Yes, he acts a little strange but I found this series for the cheap and decided to try it as a break from Beachbody to mix things up. The routines are complex and tough even though they look simple. Too early to comment on results but I feel they are effective. I love the compound moves and when done I am wiped out.
