Where do plants get their food from? Remember they are autotrophic, plants make their very own food via the process of photosynthesis. In order to make all of the macromolecules, the plant requires to get some other aspects from the soil. As an example, Nitrogen is required to make protein. As you recognize Nitrogen is needed to make healthy protein, so without this component the plant will have stunted growth.
