On a serious note, I definitely feel like this is tied to trauma from when he was a child clearly from within the time or before he was in hospital at the age of 4, can you imagine having gone through something at literally the complete beginning of your life then finding solace through the balloons, he will never be able to let go of it because this is what has helped him get through that “trauma” literally his entire entire life… He does however need to confront whatever it may have been although he would most likely not remember any of it, the balloon his mum gave to him meant something and it popping broke his heart so I feel like the trauma he experienced is to do with his mother too… wish I could speak to him, I don’t know if his mother was in his life or not, but it’s quite clear this “addiction” is tied to her, if you think about the balloon rescuing he does, if you change the thought of it from balloons to children, it makes sense… He rescues them so that he can give them a happy and safe life, something he clearly might wish he had as a child and throughout his life, I feel so bad for him because I can see passed the addiction and really feel the emotions behind it which he definitely does not understand as it has been much too long, he has completely buried his trauma with the balloons, not being able to stand a balloon popping can tell you that, everytime he hears a balloon popping he most likely relives the night the blue balloon his mother gave him popped 😢
