I always get a little low back pain when I walk for a long duration, like 45-60 minutes. I never considered glutes part of the problem. Very interesting.
This advice was excellent and definitely applies to me. Thanks so much.
Running outside is what cause me so much back pain. I still get it when I run the treadmill, but it isn’t nearly as severe. My having short legs seems to be why everything is firing into the lowers part of my long torso. So frustrating….
Dang ! I wasn’t sure about what my
physiotherapist told me (In Dutch we say ‘Kinesist’) but seems he was dead on about my gluten being the root of my running-back-issue . thx for this video !
Also running causes tight muscles in quads and adductors and psoas which pulls on the pelvis thereby pulling on lower back muscles. I didnt think about the glutes though thanks
saaaame problem here. us short legged people with long torsos have problems haha
I have worked out 3 days a week for a year and a half now on top of football for my senior year all with degenerative disc disease. Pain is part of my daily life and im still looking for a fix to help my back problems. Some days my back hurts so bad i cant leave my bed. If anyone knows how to fix this please help thank you
My mummy has been suffering from back pain. It makes her life difficult, joint aid plus and also applied orthovita oil. She is fine.
When you run on the treadmill the pressure between it and your foot is very low when you compare to the pressure you get from running on a hard ground, so your muscles are less squeezed! And that explains why your lower back doesn’t hurt as much, and that’s why experts always say that running outside (without a tradmeal) is better for your weight loss and your cardio workout in general
i get upper back pain from running but only if I dont run for like a week or 2 that when I run feels like my spines affected and its hard to breathe but, when i start to continually run 3 times a week, the back henderance goes away. anyone else with this same thing ?
Excellent Video clip! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about – Monatalie Back Barfaroni (do a search on google)? It is an awesome exclusive product for discovering how to naturally kill any kind of back pain minus the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my good mate called Gray at very last got astronomical success with it.
Awesome advice and to the point. Thanks
Me too, I just walked and jogged after doing some Glute exercises and I have no lower back pain.
oHatrid do you stretch at all?
This was great, I been tryin to find out about “can foot pain be caused by back problems?” for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried – Fenulian Prefatory Future – (do a search on google ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for discovering how to expose the trick to beat down your sciatica back pain problems minus the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my friend got excellent results with it.
@Mrityinjoy Singha I think you don’t know what a mummy is.
Activated the glutes/core and no back pain on my jog 👍🏻 had lower back pain for over a year too!
If I do minor 2-3 mile runs I’m fine , but every time I’ve done long 5-10 mile runs my lower back will be in agony a day or two later to the point where it hurts just to walk.
great video! Awesome knowledge from Dr. Oliver, respect!
Glad to see i’m not the only one suffering from this.
Over and above glute activation warmup, can I also use a brace to prevent running form that cause reliance on back instead of glute. I am a new runner and ran 10K 6 days a week for 3 weeks and now I have bad low back pain. Pls advise.
Can you share your exact pre-run and post-run glute/core exercises? I need help to get over this pain. Love to run 🏃♂️ ❤
@Allen Burrell chiropractor and fasting , helps me leaps and bounds. I can now do my 4-5 again with just minor pain in my feet and lower back the next day
@HawaiianRussian fasting?? How does that help?
@Allen Burrell relives inflammation build up. Just try it if your seriously having back issues. Don’t gotta be an extreme just start with 16 hr. Helped my back pain go away and dropped weight so 🤷🏼♂️
I will give it a shot I, I need to drop like 20lbs anyways 🤣
@Allen Burrell do it bro! And if you can throw in cardio atleast 3 times a week if can’t run jump on a aerodyne bike or a exercise bike
Hahaha
I only strictly run outside and i run 8 to 10 miles 5 times a week and this morning my lower back hurt soooo much for about 5 miles until i numbed the pain and ran the 9 miles this never happened to me before.
@Allen Burrell I’m having the same issues , have you found any solution?
@thegeneralpz I have been sleeping with two pillows under my knees and it has helped a lot as far as alignment, although I haven’t tried consistent running lately, it did strengthen it enough to help me survive a training academy.
I injured my lower back from running, pain the in the lower right side. Went to an ortho, mri, x-ray, etc. All found nothing besides minor facet irritation. But the terrible pain has lasted six months. Hopefully the physical therapist im going to can figure it out.
Thanks.I get lower back pain when I run on treadmill.Never experienced the same when I run outside though.Well explained.
Same, did not have this issue when I used to run outdoors.
This was such an informative video, thank you! I’m finally glad that I have answers as to why I have such horrible back pain lately.
You’re so welcome!
ive watched a few of these videos and well, they make it seem a lot more complicated than i think the actual answer is–> keeping your abs tight as you run. that will naturally take pressure off of your back as your feet slam into the ground and bring your back into alignment… just, it’s difficult to consciously flex your abs over a long run, or if you are playing a sport.
How are you now?
Opposite for me
It was very helpful
Thank you
Glad to hear that
Ran for the first time in a long time today and I could barely walk home after it
I’ve suffered since I was 15 it’s so annoying
