In this video clip, Dr Mike discusses the following Knowing Results (LO's);.
LO 7.1 – Define the terms: nutrient, essential nutrient, calorie, kilojoule, metabolic rate, assimilation, anabolism, and also outline the various fat-soluble/water soluble-vitamins.
LO 7.2 – Separate in between: glycolysis, glycogenesis, glycogenolysis, and gluconeogenesis.
LO 7.3 – Talk about the control mechanisms associated with the absorptive & post-absorptive states.

You made a mistake …..vitamin B 7 is Biotin and vitamin B 9 is folic acid

i would like aske a question in which i am too much confused i lots of studied watched vedios to understand exact correct nutrition definition but i am still confused i got a concept from all of this but i am not sure that is it right that i think definition of Nutrition is
1) ” study of food in all forms and all processes how our body ingest , digest , metabolize , mobilize , store and excrete food ,
2) study of food that intake the body for meet its requirement.
3) observation of food and how take the food .
please kindly tell me my above mentioned 3 points are correct or not with regard to correct nutrition definition ?

Such an enlightening lecture! In a context of sports, for a sprinter there is a sharp drop of stamina or energy at about a few minutes. I imagine it happens when glycose levels drop in the blood stream. For a marathon runners, it seems, there are two additional periods – glycogenesis, gluconeogenesis. Could you elaborate on this, please?

I suggest that you have a look at the research performed by Dr. Linda Benskin and Dr. Gareth Davies on vitamin D. Their research has shown that the amount we need is far higher than what is suggested by the RDA and the amount you need to reach toxicity is also far higher. It has also shown that, for those of us not living near the equator, vitamin D production from the sun is not going to produce sufficient amounts and supplements are needed.
