Among the struggles for new registered nurse experts in medical care is taking care of females's health and wellness topics, and recognizing if and when to describe an OBGYN specialist. We intend to do things the proper way and use resources we can trust.
In this week's video, I'm speaking with Monica Carter, who is a family registered nurse expert that has exercised in the ladies's health setup for the last 13 years. She went down many pearls and pitfalls of practice, and is genuinely a treasure of a human. We addressed inquiries from the community for a women's health and wellness service provider, consisting of:
✅ Tips for discovering cervixes on pap smears, when to do a pap post-hysterectomy, and how to evaluate the variable looks of cervixes on examination
✅ Tips and sources for taking care of menopausal signs and symptoms, irregular pap outcomes, choosing birth controls (such great understandings!) and drugs in pregnancy
✅ Getting into GYN as a family members nurse specialist
✅ When to refer to maternal-fetal medication
✅ Preliminary workup for the inability to conceive and pearls of method
Look into the sources she mentioned inside the video clip here:
Menopausal signs
ACOG green journal (need an ACOG membership or you can buy).
Menopro (THIS APP IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE – WE WILL CERTAINLY REPOST IF IT COMES BACK ON-LINE).
Picking contraception & best sources – Contraceptive innovations – publication and conference.
ASCCP application.
Reprotox application.

Thanks for making this video! I’m studying to be an FNP. It’s great to hear from an FNP who is working in a specialty and to hear her journey.
Glad it was helpful!
I really appreciate this video with GYN NP interview.. very informative and clear! wish we could have more interviews with specific topics in the future ! 🙂
More coming soon!!
Such an awesome interview, I love you both so so much!
Aww, we so appreciate that!
So helpful! Final semester FNP student and Monica’s pearls were so helpful, I have some great notes!
Loved this video! So informative and helpful . I will be taking this information into my practice.
So glad!
Isn’t she the best??
I love this interview!! Thank you so much, it answered so many questions I had regarding WHNP vs FNP!
So glad it was helpful!
Loved the interview with Monica. She’s so beautiful, eloquent, and helpful. But I think it’s a little confusing to have the title say Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner since Monica is not a certified WHNP but an OBGYN NP. I am a WHNP student and I agree with Monica that your choice between FNP vs WHNP also depends on the marketability of WHNP in your area and where you want to work.
Thank you for your input!
I really appreciate the video! Is very informative and helpful especially for me as a new FNP.
Glad it was helpful! And congrats on becoming an FNP! 🎉
I’m in my woman’s health rotation of my NP program. When I first saw this video on my feed, I ignored it. Thought, I’m not going into that field. But found myself curious to watch it because I have discovered I’m enjoying women’s health soooooo much more than I thought I would. Thank you both for the wonderful interview ❤️
Thank you so much! We are so glad it’s something that brings you joy!
This interview is wonderful!!!! I want to be like both of you when I grow up. Thank you so so so much!!!
Oh my gosh you are so sweet – thank you!!
I needed this .
I am an FNP in houston pursuing midwifery , but have a passion to work with women .
I didn’t think it would be possible to do this as an FNP . I mean gosh my YouTube channel is catered towards women .
I am going to put out some feelers . Thank you
Excellent! I wish you all the very best!
This was great! I wish it was longer, I could have kept watching and learning 😂
Isn’t she awesome?? There is SO much to learn!
Watching in 2023! Graduating this summer and found this interview to be so, so helpful!! Thank you both
Glad it was helpful!
I love this video!! You are both so engaging and inspirational!! Thank you for this!
Thank you so much!!
This is the interview I needed to see. Like Ms. Monica, I am a L&D nurse whose passion is in WH, but chose the FNP route for marketability as well. It’s great to know she’s on my area, and willing to share her knowledge!
Wonderful!
Thanks I’m doing my women’s health rotation now in my FNP program and I love it… I definitely want to specialize in this practice
That’s amazing!
I love this interview. I am in an FNP program and I am very passionate about WH. You are both wonderful! Thank you!!
Wonderful!
Great point @fushisushiazngrl1 I have colleagues that are having trouble finding a job WHNP. Two of my them have instantly found a job in other specialties. I’m from the south by the way.
