Don’t seek pleasure. Seek purpose and meaning.
Great video Stefan as always! Another piece of advice that helped me that might help others is simply asking yourself if this negative release is benefiting me or destroying me long term. Write down the pros and cons in a journal and add them up to get your answer. Repetition everyday will equal out to a better you. Stay strong!
Amazing video, Stefan!
My main thing at the moment is coffee… But I do believe that it also depends what you do in the dopamine stimulated state… For example, I often drink coffee and then do a meditative sauna session, and I’m finding it to be quite productive (maybe I’m just lying to myself).
For the most part, I’ve been consistent with practicing mantra meditation consistently, and exercising consistently. Still working on eliminating some of the bad habits that you mentioned. Will definitely do some detoxing 👍🏾
Divine Timing Stephan. Thank you for this video. I just finished the book DIGITAL MINIMALISM. My mind has been opened to the realities of screen addiction. So far I have removed social media from my phone. That alone has freed up more time in the last few days than I’ve had all year. What an eye-opener! Thanks again for the great content, as always. ~Isabel.
Jason Oler this comment is very inspiring. Thank you 😁
This video is as good as reading a whole book. Crisp and clear and thanks for making this video. Really appreciate it
cold showers + workouts are complementary tools that enhance even better the mind resetting process.
This opened my eyes to addictions I didn’t know I had. Thank you for the tools to deal with them.
Awesome video! Also one key factor that I have noticed about dopamine triggers: it’s better to cut out as much as you can, becasue often times they are heavily related. If you give in to one, the others might follow. E.g. you go out for drinking-clubbing binge and and after that you crave a large fatty meal and the day after you feel letargic and unmotivated. And so it goes.
Totally relate to this. Such a large part of my life is controlled by this. Thank you so much for your content, you’ve inspired me to change and grow
Scary how many things in this video are relatable, here’s to a well needed detox 🙌🏽
I have to say: I really love this guy. I almost feel like crying because I feel thankfull that he is sharing and he has very nice energy 🙂
Suffering from anxiety disorder for a couple of years now. Realized that fear has gotten me addicted to self isolation, spending too much time on social media watching people go through their successful lives while i feel miserable about my own life and then wondering why my life got stuck. that’s it. i’m taking back control of my life. thanks so much for your videos and keep inspiring!
COLD SHOWERS ARE THE BEST!! IT REALLY WORKS!!
His intro literally described every aspect of my existence
same
I had never heard of the term dopamine detox before coming across your videos, but totally speaks to what I have felt I’ve been needing. This teaching is so contrary to our culture. I appreciate you speaking on this.
I really want to thank you for your commitment to helping others by providing a place to learn what I see as the most important things in life. I have not been living under a rock however I just recently stumbled across your videos and these are things that I myself have found to be some of the most interesting pieces of information in life. I truly believe in the things you are teaching, to be some of the most important things for us to know. I was lucky to have been raised with a family who is very awake if you know what I mean. So I believe these things are what the world is missing and I’m thankful there are troops out spreading the word. I myself have been trying so hard to take in every bit of knowledge I can find on entrepreneurship, and my most difficult task so far has been to find a niche that I can identify with. I think it’s very cool that you are able to find sources of income through sharing your knowledge with others. Thank you very much! I’m on my way to dopamine detox now. I’ve never vlogged anyting before but I think doing a dopamine detox and vlogging about it might be where I start so again a million thank yous!
I have struggled with addiction since a very young age and I recognize my attempts to replace those more extreme forms of dopamine activators with any other thing that will feed my need for dopamine. I’m still hooked on the dope! I am aware of this and definitely prayer and meditation, staying present and working with others are the only way out. I’m not meant to always feel good. Pain is growth and I’m ready to master this flesh vessel! So bring on the detox!
Cold shower in deed
Cold showers / workouts / meditation / yoga / small task achivements all of it have worked for me, and I’m still a work in progress.
Wow, you actually have no idea how life changing this is! For my whole life I didn’t realize that I was chasing Dopamine hits! This video should have millions of views ! Appreciating life in the moment is sooooo essential. Thank you!
I’m on day one of not smoking weed anymore, day 90 of no booze… I get a good dopamine rush when I learn new music. So I’m planning to use that as a replacement.
Porn. It’s really bad. Must stop. What you described regarding porn addiction, that’s what im going through.
Yes..PORN These Days..👎😢
I know right 🤣
Food, caffeine , lemonade
I’ve been on a dopamine detox for 6 days now and it’s made me realize so much. Those first few days I had a new found focus and productivity but around day 4/5 I noticed these intense emotions of loneliness and feeling disconnected from everything. As you mentioned it really did reveal how we as human use dopamine to hide/avoid certain emotions. Now focused on working through those to really unleash my creativity. I felt my addiction to dopamine was stifling it. Now I will say I’ve found myself spending way more time on YouTube so it may need to be the next one to go 🙁
Thanks for sharing your experience. It really can help you to take back control of your life
I totally relate
