I’m at 9 months now. Vacuret has been a big help.
Penile injections after 6 months and I’m beginning to have night erections 😀. I reckon by month 12 I should be back to normal
Thank you for sharing how you’re going, Anthony! Well done on finding strategies that are working for you 👍 so glad to hear you’ve found the Vacurect helpful
7 weeks post op. I was taking cialis daily 5 mg, 2 weeks preop and 5 weeks post op. I have night erections. Engorgement regularly. I use vacurect and started injections 3 times per week 1 week ago. All good. Having sex with injections. After 2 weeks I was 100 percent continent. Keegles exercises religiously. So nice to have you and your encouragement. You offer valid scientific info and reassurance. It is much appreciated.
Congratulations on your speedy recovery and diligent rehab Bob! I’m very pleased to hear you’re finding the Touchy Subject resources helpful
6+ years for me.
Do the restriction rings prevent semen from discharging?
Hi Joe, great question, they can do depending on the tightness
I am 14 months post-op. I have found your information very helpful as my urologist provided no rehabilitation suggestions.
I have been using a vacuum pump for 2 months and a Manta vibrator for 6 weeks. I plan to begin promix injections twice a week.
In your research, have you found that a daily 5mg dose of Cialis would help?
In other words, it really depends on how good your surgeon / post-operative care is, and your general health at the time of the surgery. If you’re an 80 year old obese diabetic, you’re probably looking at waiting a long time before a cereal bowl full of Cialis will give you a semi.
Thank you for your comment Malcolm, and that is a great question! From that I’ve read the research for daily cialis is ongoing and not conclusive at this stage, I suggest you check out this podcast interview with Professor Montorsi (key penile rehab researcher) to understand the concept behind PDE5s within rehab and whether you want to pursue it as part of your own regime: https://www.atouchysubject.com/viagra-after-prostatectomy
Very well put – everyone has a different journey needing different strategies depending on their unique situation.
Great info Victoria, Thanks.
Thank you Victoria for the help and hope you are providing to so many of us. I am at 11 months and struggling to come to grips with ED and move forward with a plan. I guess I was just hoping that EF would magically come back.
Thank you for your comment Young Timer (love the username!), I am pleased to hear the resources are helping you. I know a lot of men hope that EF will just magically return, however, there are many positive steps you can take to optimise your recovery, prevent further problems and have a lot of fun in the meantime – so no need to just wait and see! Best of luck creating your plan to move forward, please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Mine has lasted 10 years. Thank you mass general hospital, for screwing up my prostate cancer surgery
Prostatectomy in 1996. Nothing has worked. 24 years. I would take back my cancer-addled prostate in a New York minute! Sucketh.
So sorry to hear this!
So sorry to hear of yet another victim! A Radical Prostatectomy by any means is not a cure! it’s a sacrifice!! Men deserve better!! Quality of life matters!!!
So sorry to hear this!
More than 3 years, no full function without Alprostadil.
@Brian Thruston yes it does. No prostate, no seman.
Am really interested in Uberlube in it’s lasting power, feel, and less sticky nature. Can I use it with the Vacurect device without a material compatibility problem?
“Tenting the sheet” 😂😂🤣.
I like this lady! 🥰
What country are you from May I ask?
4 years for me and I give up
@Davey boy I googled it and I think it is in Boston USA – Massachusetts General Hospital
@elmer fudd thanks for your reply.
I just passed 6 months. Cialis gives me wicked heartburn, so I’ve been struggling with that. My erections are nothing like they were pre-cancer, obviously, but it does get bigger, almost as large as before, and it’s nearly enough for penetration. Your comment regarding “takes up to two years for nerves to recover” was very helpful. I am having pain after orgasm in the form of a “sharp ache??” if that makes any sense. Wife and I are working on it a couple times a week, and while progress is very slow, there is progress. Hang in there guys….. pun intended.
BTW: Im 61, healthy non-smoker, with good BMI. I was 4+3 Gleason in February 2021, surgery April 19 2021. Urinary leakage is 99% gone. My surgery was Lap. RARP.
Sorry to hear this…it just plain sucks!
@Paula Green Thank you.
Can you help me get my erectile dysfunction fixed
LOL, until recently I hadn’t realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it’s a relief! Although what he previously suggested was pretty good, it was a real pain to follow… go’ogle Mario’s Thunderous Erections, you’ll see why it’s so much easier and potent now!
Thank you for posting these things for us out here struggling with post prostatectomy ED, which really can define us as physical beings. You’re an angel.
Very interesting
It’s been over 10 years. I’ll let you know when it works again.
How old are at the time of operation ?
@Iain Brown 59 years old it’s now 3 years and am fully functional and I still use the vacuret for exercise not for sex.
Uh huh. I just went through surgery. I didn’t need to hear that. Joking aside, I already know it’s life changing. All we can do face it best we can.
@Paula Green Yes it does and I’m only 40 5 years later.
It’s almost a year after my prostate I was surprise a very small erection —> useless but their hope. –.> HARD TO See any great progress. Maybe my Martial Arts I do 45 mins of extreme cardio punching in the air 600+ then followed by Qigong for 30 mins everyday. I think it’s why I see some success. heeeeheeeeee I am 72 and before surgery I was already having problems. So any success will be not too good.
Sorry so Just hang in their. It’s a year for me and nothing work and then a slight rise. I all but given up. I do Martial Arts to get over my ED. I practice at age 72, 45 mins aggressive workout followed raising my heart rate then top it off with Standing Gigong for 30 mins. Maybe it’s help. Previous to that the prostate surgery resulted in a Hernia and I develop damaged nerve making muscles hurt and my knee was a mess. I have never given up so I did lots of physical therapy workout. My knee is only 80% but at least it’s progress.
I don’t expect a great erection cause it was a problem before the surgery
So life goes on. At least tried one more erection before surgery. It’s only memories now
Hi William, thank you for sharing, I bet that exercise is serving you very well (more videos about the positive impact of cardio and ED recovery on my channel), it could be worth investigating what might have been the underlying cause of ED before your surgery too as part of the recovery equation. Best of luck!
