thigh fat is caused by high estrogen. it is a form of fat storage signaling that gives the tissue the energy stores it needs to develop effeminate hips (wide) this kind of fat also develops in the buttocks. If it’s waist ie sides of the abdomen it is more likely cortisol. If its the belly be becoming bulbous it is insulin/growth hormone. (if you have more than one of these you have a thyroid issue likely due to diet and sleep habits)

@Tad That is mainly an insulin issue. Try a ketosis based diet or eat in less frequent intervals ie one to two meals a day. You can try a regular diet with foods that raise blood sugar less if you are hesitant about keto.
@Mel Ech A thyroid issue can develop becuase of a multitude of reasons. Try a fast of two to three days. If you already eat very little , that may be the problem becuase you require fat to create hormones. If you have sleep problems find a better way to get quality sleep; one would be to reduce caffeine intake. Lastly if the problem is you overproduce certain hormones that is a genetic issue or likely a form of tumor. On the extremely off chance it is neither of those its likely bacterial based.

@Squish McNob well if you took 5 minutes to educate yourself instead of being condescending you would know that there are at least 50, and even then that number is likely to go up. You seem to only be familiar with the two main sex hormones, those being testosterone and estrogen (estrogen is actually a group of hormones rather than one). There is also Cortisol which is a stress hormone along side Epinephrine. Leptin, ghrelin, CCK, and insulin are your weight hormones which help tell you what to eat and what not to eat, CCK being an appetite suppressant so you don’t overeat. Melatonin that helps you sleep, etc. I can go on and on but if you were that butthurt over being called out for being wrong I’m sure it wouldn’t make a difference.
