My biggest mistakes on keto was NUTS. Ohhhh boy macadamias and pecans are my favourite with tea. But the calories add up so quickly. I count about 10-20 and have them with some protein so it fills me up 🤓👍🤣
I remember some years back I went on keto diet and lost a considerable amount of weight. But as the years went by, keto stoped working for me as per weight loss. Even intermittent system wasn’t effective anymore till I went on long term fasting last year. Oh boy, I’m now an expert in weight loss, thanks to Cole Robinson.

Obesity and insulin resistance
Got it. After 2.5 years of almost completely keto, weight was creeping back on. I realized I was snacking on butter. This last week, I have become more diligent about salt in my water. My treat is berries once or twice a week, and adding it to my meals now should help. 3 pounds loss this week.

I have found that I am a weight gain expert, Sigh. But I agree. When I was younger, I could go into ketosis in a heartbeat. I did Prolon twice and lost about 9 pounds each time and my biomarkers were way better. Fasting balances the gut biome.
Thanks for this it is SOOOO Timely for me. I have gained back pounds and I’m in a stressful situation and I crave. Sooo I’ll work on the salt and not snacking
@Robert that’s a REALLY low dose of Magnesium Glycinate. I’m on 1400mg daily at bedtime. I’m a 5’3″, 105 lb woman.
@SKSA Inc sure some have different levels I personally take 900mg but 600mg is a good start. without knowing his diet, if he gets any magnesium from food
@Jacob Skuba depending if you are getting mag from diet, i would up that quite a bit. try to do 600mg and see how you feel

I learned a lot on dry fasting. The last dry I did was for 4 or 5 days. I won’t do dry that long. Next time I’ll mix water and dry. My throat was parched/very painful to eat or drink. What helped was drinking warm water

I know that it would be a flag for many good things to happen in the body but also there are some evidence relating certain cancer types to elevated level of Growth Hormon. @Reina Macaren-a hey fellow Fatty! Fasting is now part of my lifestyle since last year May. Lost 75lbs easy and went from 2XL to L now at 6ft 3inches. As Cole says, weight loss is an effing joke to me. I lose weight so easily now with fasting and it keeps me healthy and looking great. Even if I binge on crappy foods, I just set a fasting goal and don’t negotiate my goal. Can’t believe I didn’t know this all these years while being a fatty. 🤣🤣😁😁
The salt thing is totally legit. I would find late at night I would desperately crave salty foods (nuts, chips, anything) and eventually I learned to just dip my finger in salt and eat it and then follow up with a sip of water and food craving completely disappeared. Now I know its not food I’m craving, just a few hits of salt.
I lost 150lbs on Keto. My biggest sticking point was getting past Keto desserts that I would make using Almond Flour. This stalled me out. After removing that dessert from my diet, and then a couple months later adding IF & OMAD, the weight started pouring off of me. It took me a total of 2 years to lose the 150lbs. I have maintained it for another year. I went from 321lbs to 170lbs. I lost 60lbs in the first 6 months, then Boom 💥 stalled. I would then lose about one pound per week after that. Don’t get discouraged. Stay away from the “Keto Friendly” processed foods in the supermarket. I’m 61 years now with Hashimoto’s Disease (Hypothyroidism), Epstein-Barr Virus, and Hemochromatosis that requires Phlebotomy Treatments. If I could lose the weight, you certainly can too. Thomas DeLauer’s videos have provided great information and motivated me to stick with it. But, remember – You have to find what works for you.
Try Magnesium, & L-Theanine. I have GAD bad. I also take a couple drops of Lazarus Naturals CBD Oil before bed & I sleep like a baby.

I’m sooooo proud of you. I’m still not where I want but it’s my fault. Mom lives with me now. I have her on low carb but when I cook for her I taste the food to ensure it’s okay and because it smells good lol. I taste by mistake on purpose lol. I’ll lose/gain a lb or 2. What’s weird is if I’m at a plateau, I’ll eat crappy food, get on the scale the next day and lose 2-3lbs I don’t get that part. Anyway I’m relocating to Florida this yr from coldasz Midwest. Can’t be a fatty in Florida 😂 I let my mom sleep late which helps on not eating early. Sometimes no matter how good the food smells I’ll ignore and eat later in the evening
@Thomas DeLauer That’s exactly the problem: you may have answered an important question or discussed an important topic at some point over the thousands of videos you’ve made, but we have no way of knowing that certain answers even exist. Not many of us have hundreds of hours to sit and watch every single video you’ve ever made and to catch every word you utter at machine gun speed. After watching dozens if not hundreds of your videos, I’ve never heard a word about this electrolyte fasting thing, so I would never have known to search for it if he had not mentioned it. So Mr. Silverchair has done us a favor by drawing our attention to this topic, no thanks to YouTube’s algorithm whatsoever. Also, after searching your channel, I found exactly one that mentions electrolytes, and it doesn’t include any guidance on when, what kind, or how much to consume.
Don’t forget… too much salt is not good for the heart 😑

Thank you for this! I’m down 20 kg now and it seems like my metabolism is better, especially after my first ever 46 h fast. Today I tried eating a high carb meal that Thomas recommended: a buckwheat porridge. I just hope it works. I’m trying to mix it up a little bit. It’s not going to be a habit but I really liked the taste, so maybe once a month if my body is ok with it. 🤪 I cooked it with cinnemon, vanilla, salt and had a little sugarfree jam and unsweetened coconutmilk with it.
@Jeff Inkhobar , look up Dr Ken Berry MD on YT, he has a video for everything and they are always in depth. He’s amazing! He also has a very good book out that I highly recommend.
Eating more salt is a great tip. I’ve been exercising while doing keto and sometimes I feel really dizzy when standing up after sitting for some time. I read that this could be a side effect of sodium deficiency so will start having more. I think it’s starting to make me snack more as I’ve been hungrier and hungrier so will see how it goes! Thanks for the video!

Another excellent video by Thomas . I have tried so many diets or plans over the years but nothing was sustainable. I have lost 90lbs in the last year and in the best health ever . For me I follow his advice and limit the amount of keto processed foods . If I can make myself , that is preferable and limit snacking.
I have Ménière’s disease and my doctor told me to limit my sodium to 3,000 mg per day. I got to my goal weight in 8 months doing keto and IF. I had to be careful to not overdo the salt but I did have success. I take a potassium supplement to make sure the sodium is balanced. This video is helpful. 👍
A lot of us are already know about pink Himalayan salt which I have boyfriend never tried. If you’re craving salt or need salt as part of your healthy living. Put some meats. Or if no one cares about you wasting food take a noodle packetand if it’s not something you’re craving just flavor, take some curry powder and some turmeric and some curumim with some black pepper for activation and poured into your chicken fat with some veggies like kale.

Nuts are a big one for me too. Same 2, macadamia and pecans. I’ve learned if I don’t eat out of the container, but purposely put the exact amount I should eat in a separate bowl, then put the containers away before I start eating them, I won’t over-eat.
Also stopped buying nuts a while ago.. I could totally snack through a full bag of California Walnuts within minutes and wouldn’t even be full afterwards.
@Rick Steinbornsame, nuts don’t provide me with satiety cues.

Hey I’m on my first week of keto I was feeling tired and wanted to try something to see if it made a difference to cognitive function.
It did for sure ! feel more energetic, alert ect. But I’m also getting crazy adrenaline rushes at night. Like too …much first one gave me a panic attack and then it happened next day too .
Anyone else had this? My body adapting or?
@gungus 95 I don’t remember which mineral but I saw a chart recently that one of the mineral deficiencies you can get on keto causes this.
