8. ☝️😷 I appreciate watching these type of procedures. Ie. Fungal Infections, Otomycosis, etc. This was an Exceptional Job. It looked like a very Delicate Extraction to perform. 9. The ear canals are very tender so we have to be extremely gentle when removing the infection. The most common symptoms are a reduction in hearing and some itchiness/soreness in the ear canal

14. My ears got clogged before so my doctor asked me to put ear drops for a week to soften it. My doctor left so I was able to see him after a couple of weeks and now my ears had fungus… It was disgusting, scary and embarrassing… I didn’t know you can get that before. I was given meds that helped removed it. Anyway I want to know how do you prevent it?

21. Dr Zhao is an actual Doctor though. He’s dealing with stuff that is more severe like choleostomas and can actually sedate patients. He’s doing stuff that is beyond the remit of an audiologist.

23. @Little Boots well said. The damage that people are seeing in the eardrum after the doctor is finished is damage that was caused by the problem that he’s treating not by his removal of what’s inside the ear. I’m not sure if Dr. Zhao even does simple ear cleanings.

24. @Dixie Rae I agree. Dr. Zhao is not brutal AT ALL. If you watch closely, you will see him using the hook to push against the wax as opposed to scrapping against the canal wall. The difference is that while both Mr Barber and Dr. Zhao are explaining things, we cannot understand what Dr Zhao is saying.

27. What does it feel like to have this condition? I’ve had a mystery problem with my left ear for a few years now. The canal always feels painful, it itches often, and sometimes leaks a clear fluid. The ear canal is pretty narrow, and wax buildup has been a problem. I’ve gotten the wax removed, but no doctor I’ve been to can understand why I’m still feeling pain, tenderness, inflammation, and itching.

28. I’d go to the ER. Clear fluid is not normal. You could have gotten water trapped in your ear which can irritate the canal but keep seeing doctors because that’s not normal

43. I had an infection like this that was removed years ago. All my life I thought it was normal not to hear when water got into my ear. It was only until when my doctor told me that the fungi expands whenever it got wet that I understood that there was something wrong with me. The removal was a hell lot of pain but it was so worth it to have it removed after years of suffering.

47. @dyann campbell Itching, ear pain, hearing loss (because your ear is blocked), and colored discharge from your ear seem to be the most common symptoms. I think the easiest way to be diagnosed would be going to the doctor so they can look inside of your ear, though. Because it could be anything, I’m not sure that’s something you could really diagnose at home.

50. @Donnie Trumpler It might have got mostly to do with hygeine bt I got ear fungus becoz I pushed the ear bud too deep accidentally and since than it led to worse

53. @Shivani ah that sucks to hear. My experience was I visited a walk in clinic 2 times and all they did was prescribe ear drops for me but they didn’t do much. My ear hurt so much just to touch and It felt clogged. I also experienced hearing loss and even heard a very subtle beeping noise in my ear like tinnitus. I finally visited a ENT who suctioned my ear out. It felt like loud popping noises when he put the little vacuum in my ear. He also filled my ear with some white ointment. Slowly but surely my hearing came back and my ear stopped hurting. The white thing he put in my ear starts to slowly disappear. Just don’t blow your nose hard enough that it pops your ears for the time (I did it and it hurt sooo bad I wanted to cry). Listen to your ENT Dr and don’t let your ear get wet for the time. Put some cotton balls on your ear when you shower. Having a ear infection is one of the worst things I’ve felt if I’m being honest and I’ve broken bones before so I understand how distressed you must be. But the only thing to do is give it time, listen to your ENT and keep your ear dry. It will get better. It took me about 3 months until it felt like it was gone completely. Wish you the best!

    Edit: it took about 3 months since I first got the ear infection for it to get better. But about 5 weeks or so since I saw my ENT so you’re on the right track. Does your ear feel a little better each day?

    and my experience with fungal infection is no different,almost the same as yours
    today I went to a new one.He was quite cooperative and asked to follow the precautions and it’s gonna take 25days bt I am relieved now.
    I fixed my appointment..the old one didn’t provide me any ointment as such bt ear drops yaa he did provide that (name-ciprofloxacin &dexamethasone) and medications too
    yaa I do put cotton to prevent water frm frm going inside while taking shower
    I so agree even I feel the same that’s one of the frustrating experiences I have ever had like I have my exams and I can’t concentrate bt what’s astonishing is that it’s gonna take so much of time ughh
    thanfully, my ear dosen’t hurt that bad
    now it does bt not quite often bt it feels clogged all the time now today I got it cleaned so it’s better than before
    again

    I was in hella pain, idk there was some pain in my left year. Although I endured it because I had an exam, after 3 hours I felt my was wet Inside. The pain increased with time, so in the evening I consulted ENT doctor, he showed me some white thing that was in my ear, and informered that I’ve fungus infection. I’ve taken some tablets now I feel good, however if I expose my ear to air or any kinda of noise my ear starts to pain.
    Idk if I can survive if this thing lasts like 3 months.
