The quantity of VA special needs settlement you can obtain monthly for erectile dysfunction depends upon the seriousness of your condition. Under Unique Monthly Settlement K for loss of use of the imaginative body organ, the VA typically provides a 0% ranking for erectile dysfunction. It is called SMC (k), and is paid out with your VA compensation check each month. SMC (k) totals up to $128.62 monthly in 2023.
An additional VA claim can be filed for impotence if you are taking drugs for a service-connected handicap. Examine the negative effects of all the medications you take. 50% of the drugs you take listing Erectile Dysfunction as a possible negative effects. If your erectile dysfunction is a secondary condition to a service-connected disability as well as it satisfies the needs for settlement, you may be eligible for a higher score.
On the DBQ for Man Reproductive Organ Conditions, the VA C&P test for Erectile Dysfunction includes inquiries regarding the male reproductive system. A C&P examination for Erectile Dysfunction is generally not required unless the inspector considers it required (e.g., look for defects of the penis, loss of testes). A C&P exam for erectile dysfunction is normally dealt with under the Acceptable Medical Proof (ACE) process, which is a record-only review.

She looked at my junk. She gave me a choice but I thought it might effect the exam if I said no. It was a regular ED c&p exam, no deformities, so now I am kind of wondering what’s up? 🤔
Thats odd!
@Combat Craig IKR? Caught me off guard for sure. My C&P was 4/5 and the VA says LHI still has not sent the findings to them and LHI is telling me that the provider has not submitted her exam report? I went back to the provider and she said she did and LHI just hasn’t sent it to the VA yet. Does LHI always take 45 days to submit the results of a C&P exam? This is my first LHI experience and I am so happy that I did not have them for my major stuff.
The examiner had me drop em at my C&P. It’s definitely part of the exam.
Yeah i didn’t have to drop my pants for the exam but I also was getting medication for ED for over a year before I filed my claim.
I did mine over the phone. The doctor went by my medical records and medications. A drop your pants exam is odd.
So getting subcribed medication for 13yrs is not enough to get approved? You would think if you are service connected for ptsd, Sleep apnea, and hypertension that they would be able to put the puzzle together
What do you mean open your whole claim and take a big drop? I have been rated at 100% for 2 years, 70% of that was for PTSD. Recently, I did another C&P exam for PTSD (at the request of the VA, I didn’t request it) and they raised my PTSD rating to 100% by itself. How would my erectile dysfunction getting worse put me at risk of having my ratings dropped? Also, they deemed me P&T after the PTSD C&P exam and labeled me “homebound”.
i craig as always thank you for all the info. i have a question, due to last ear surgery doctors have told me that i can never swim or allow water near my ear again for my whole life, so basically summer is off for me rest of my life. can i fail a claim for that? thanks for your time
That’s interesting. I just got a exam for ED and PTSD and I told my doc it was due to my ptsd plainly. I also denied the exam of physical examination. I denied letting him look because of MST. Didn’t realize this till he said don’t worry I’m not gonna check you because I see mst on your list of problems. I personally believe the more you add on the more it boosts your rating especially mental health. I focused on on my inability to interact with people make relationships, reminders and the list goes on but yea. I just hope it goes well. I think he means that say a rating goes down like say one day “ you are at 100% but later on the va says hey this is only worth 70% at the max… maybe they can put your rating down or try to. Everything is scrutinized once you refill or file a new claim, of course this is circumstantial . Everything, I have a friend that rates vets at the va and I can tell you they don’t for the most part go out of their way to do that.
@JustinThePenguin no doubt. Like I was saying above, I was surprised to get a call from the VA like a month ago saying they wanted to do another C&P exam for PTSD. I was already at 100% but my PTSD rating was only 70%. They said they probably initiated it because I was approved for social security disability recently (took 18 months to get approved and I did not have to appeal or anything) or because I am at the VA 3 times a month for appointments in relation to my PTSD. Are you getting social security disability? If not, you should apply! I’m getting $2,108 per month starting this month and I got $60,000 in backpay within a week of being approved! Also, are you getting Combat Related Special Compensation? I’m getting $1,989 a month for that and it’s about to go up to the max amount because my PTSD rating is now at 100%. Best of luck bro!
When you file a claim they can look at and re exam your for claims you already have.. so if you have a 70% for ptsd and them make u go back to an exam and you tell them your doing amazing at that exam.. They are going to lower your rating.. If you have been going to the Doc and haven’t lied you have nothing to worry about. I would assume most are getting worse not better.. And like i have said many of time on here.. If you are dumb enough to tell them your doing amazing and that your back doesn’t hurt etc.. then its your own fault for getting your rating lowered.. remember the VA isn’t your friend they are not trying to help you
Can you make a video on static disability, and how to get it?
I finally joined the hundo club thanks to you cc!!! Thank you for all your videos and information! Now to get started on my claim for ED
🤠💰💯🇺🇸
@Paul Nightwolf well I just had my claims opened then because the VA made me do another C&P PTSD exam and that went fine so I guess I am good to do this.
Thanks go you i filed for it. Low T and being issued viagra got me in there. Dr. Was nice about the exam. Checked my records and meds. Still stuck at 90% though.
@Paul Nightwolf yes possibly..doesn’t mean they are going to do it
Hi Craig, I have been suffering with ED since 2007, mid 2008 was the last time my 3rd wife entertained me. We divorced in 2010. Right now I am getting 80% and like you, I can wait for that 20 years to pass me by, if i live that long, (I am 75 yrs old). Just wondering, because I was diagnosed with ED back in 2007 and rated 0% for it at the time, will the VA BACK PAY ME FROM THAT 2007 DATE? LOL
When I was first diagnosed with ED the doctor also found me to have an Enlarged Prostate, Type II Diabetes and high Blood Pressure. He told me at the time that while I was having trouble getting an erection, once I began taking the medications for the other stuff I suffered from I would no longer be able to get hard again. I really hate it when doctors are right!
I went in for ED C&P exam, and the DR actually looks and touched me down there 😢with a nurse in the room as witnesses. And the VA denied the claim.
Not a funny subject.. But I laughed pretty hard when you got into the exam Thanks for making me laugh brother
My ED claim was flat out denied. They said it’s out caused by my active duty service. I disagree, I used it up, young while on active duty………..they weren’t buying it.
🤠🤠
I have been 100% since 2011. I applied for SMC(K) for ED based on secondary causes (HBP, OSA, prescription side effects), a letter from my primary care doctor, and was flatly denied by the VA. I went to my local DAV office to ask about filing an appeal – their advice was “it is not worth them possibly downgrading your present rating for only $128 per month”. So i will wait another eight years and re-apply – do not want to jepodize my 100% rating and, OBTW, the VA is not there to help the veteran, only themselves and their annual bonuses! Why do federal employees get annual bonuses??? Never got one in the military…
CC, where can I find the charts you sometimes show for each condition the ratings and descriptions that support that rating? I have looked around but cannot find those. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for great info as I had been overlooking this claim bc is awarded @ 0% and wasn’t aware of extra 🤑🍆
No problem👍
Sure can after watching your last video I filed and my MH meds secondary. Easiest quickest claim I have ever won ☝️
💰💰
@Rick, same thing here, DBQ and everything a really quick denied, thought it was a gimme but no… Still fighting though!
@Combat Craig my C&P Exam took 5 minutes if that. Great doctor
What I heard lawsuit Aka pressure.
What was the doctor checking for ? To see if it got hard ? MD messed up . Take advantage of that brother
I claimed ED and they made me do some blood work to check testosterone levels to see if it was mental or an actual organ problem and my testosterone level was low, then they send me to do more lab work and they found more problems in me, long story short I was diagnosed with Hypogonadism which is 0% comp and my ED got stuck with that 0% so becareful the VA is fighting back!
Pretty much just mention it to your primary care they’ll write it down and may offer you the little blue pill. You can also talk to your mental health Dr. About it. now there’s medical records in your file.
We would think…
Can you think about making a video about how to claim for SMC-K or other SMC because VA DOESN’T provide any information on how to submit for SMC, they just say go to your regional office and currently I’m a veteran living overseas.
Why would the VA lower your disability by filing for ED? I don’t understand that part. Thanks
