I bought an mtb last November and started riding it 3-4 times a week minimum of 35KM. It feels really good. My sleep is much better now, I lost significant amount of weight and always in a good mood. Cycling is the best exercise for me. Love it!

For me, cycling has pretty much replaced my alcoholism. I used to drink like four to five cans almost everyday until I decided to stop for my daughter. It was hard, but I was introduced to cycling from my friends which I got really into. I started at mountain biking and went to road bike in three years. Now I ride my bike with my daughter every time we can, it’s a really great bonding time for us since we get to go sightseeing all the time.
I’m 70 yo & love riding my bike. I’ve always liked to ride but now, it’s keeping me sane during this pandemic. The longest ride I’ve done is 14 mi.

I restarted cycling in Feb 2021, after having left it for about 2-3 years. Those 2-3 years of my life were the worst for me, both physically and mentally. As of March 2021, I have lost 13 kgs of weight in 3 months of training my body. Cycling is my favorite exercise because it isn’t very tiring, the wind feels great, the speed is enjoyable (you notice things that you usually don’t when in a car, increased awareness, running feels too slow and the environment changes very slowly around you, making the scenery boring after a while, cycling helps in understanding roads and people better), it doesn’t hurt your joints at all. I have been loving every minute of my cycling routes, I plan on recording my routes in future with a go pro and do intercity/long distance cycling. I hope you all the very best in your cycling journeys. Also, a lot of respect to some of the elder cyclists I have come across in the comments section. Love from India.
I’ve cycled since I was a teenager…I’m now 53 and still in love with it. After years of solo riding, 5 years ago I joined a local club and have made some great friends and have a lot of fun on group rides at the weekend…definitely recommend joining a club. It adds another dimension.

I’ve been cycling for a while now, but lately I’ve committed to 10km a day minimum and it’s working wonders for my depression and anxiety (which became dangerously debilitating over the course of the pandemic).
When you feel like it, I’d high advise cycling outdoors. You won’t want to cycle indoors again; the benefits of cycling outside just cannot be achieved within four walls.

@dark knight , i see changes in my muscles, they are more firm , especially legs and upper thigh , I have more energy and I can walk easily without getting fatigued , I sleep better. Now, because weather is much more friendly, I manage to do 14000+ steps daily 😌

I always suggest my family and friends to do this sport because I’ve got a lot of benefits from it. The most important thing is I still can keep good shape after I eat a lot food. 😂 Love it forever😘

It’s been 12 Days since I started cycling with the motto of weight reduction and have covered approx 250 KMS already. I’ve also reduced my intake of food avoiding junk.
Started mountain biking in mid May this year and it is now the end of August, I’ve lost 45 lbs so far.
Went from 255 lbs to 210 lbs in 14 weeks.
I love it and don’t wanna stop, I’ve been riding an avg of 10 miles a day.
“You’ll be burning calories faster than you can cram them back in.” You don’t know what I can do to three pounds of food in 6 minutes.
I cycle 5 times per week. Three short rides (5 miles) and two longer rides (8-13 miles). Improves awareness, alertness, body toning gives me great self-confidence. I love my bike!!!
Stay with it!! I am 76 and do 50-60 mile rides. I got back on a bike at 68 yrs old. First ride was 1 mole, and thought I was going to die. Wasn’t long before I was up to 10, then 20, and on and on. My longest has been 85 moles. Now I’m.going for my 1st Century (100 miles)

I cycle every day for 5 hours, uphill and downhill and I have not lost any pound. Even after I got rid of most of sugar, eat less etc. I am still overweight. Strange.
Age 71 and cycling at least a couple of times a week, even in winter. My goal this year is 1500 miles. Very nice video with only one negative observation – many riders were shown not wearing helmets. ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET!!! I’m a physician and race a vintage sports car in addition to cycling. Wearing proper safety gear is one of the most important things you can do. All of the health benefits of cycling are worthless if you suffer a brain injury from not wearing a helmet. Sorry for the rant, just my $.02 and pet peeve.

You can do it! I was amazed at myself when I did my first 20. Just make sure your bike is in good condition and enough air in the tires. I was riding with not enough air in my tires and making myself work harder than I had to!

@Bad Boy that’s cause we don’t Bike more than 6 Km when you Bike more than that your Body automatically adjusts stamina to last longer than 6 km like go till 10 Km and so on and you Need snacks too if you get tired or Lousy Biking too long.
Might do that with my Future son when the time comes haha 😅.

I cycled everyday for almost 6mnths for 1 to 2 hr daily. Mechanical cycle gave me thighs and calves.

My doctor and fitness coach adviced me not to cycle for longer hours as it wil give you bulky legs (thighs) but i cared less abut it and continued my journey. I had a doubt for some time and i couldn’t figure it out that ‘as we change gears for resistence, shud i go for higher gears or shud i limit myself just on first one and go for longer hours?’ Can you help me out on this one sir?
@Karthik Kusuma honestly im still a novice. However low resistance is ok. You are trying to burn fat and improve your cardiovascular health. Just make sure the resistance you choose can be maintained comfortably as long as you choose to ride. Most importantly develop a 4 to 5 min stretch routine. I do shoulder rolls, trunk twist, calf raises, and standing quad stretches…about 10 to 15 reps each.
