Excellent video, Dr. Jones, especially when so many dogs and humans have these eye problems. My dog has dry eye and I’ll be trying the pure filtered aloe Vera. This is great news for other options. With sincere thanks!!
Really enjoy your channel doc.. is there a connection with cataracts and blepharitis more often than dogs without cataract? Also what’s the main underlying allergy that causes blepharitis? Is it dust or his fur or grain allergy? 🤷♀️I’m wondering bc my 13 yr old Jack Russell Buck has blepharitis ☹️😢.. the vet said he’s got cataracts as well..I wish you were in my area to bring Buck in.. I tried the camomile tea and warm compresses for his eyes. I’m trying to figure out the underlying cause an have not found any literature saying what the allergy could be besides an underlying allergy…. is it his fur? Household dust? He doesn’t get any grain and I pretty much make his food. If I can figure out what allergy causes it in most dogs, i can do something about it for him. Regular dusting doesn’t seem to be enough to stop the blepharitis.. I’ll keep warm compresses till it clears up. Unless I’m supposed to get medicine for him every month to control it? Bc so far the meds didn’t clear it up… Thanks for your time Doc. I enjoy your channel much and you actually inspired me to keep making Bucks food.. 🙏 much appreciated..
For cataracts:
1. Triphala 1-2 mg/lb 2x daily
2. Astanxanthin 1mg/20 lb 2x daily
3. 100% aloe vera “filtered” aloe, 1-2 drops 2x daily. (He shows George’s Aloe Vera in a dropper bottle)
I have read that heavy exposure to sunlight, and old age also contribute to cataracts. (Personal experience included 🥴)
Wish i knew these remedies years ago when my dog developed cataracts.
Aloe….hmmm. good for inside and outside our bodies.
Thank you for your vids. They always enlighten.
Thank you!
Thank you Dr. Jones for this informative video. I and my 11 year old minature, appricot poodle both have cataracs. I take natural Visiclear. It has helped me and I open up the capsule and put a tiny bit in Lexi’s food each day. The film on her eyes is all gone. 🐩
Thank you so much for this info, doc. It may not help my dog coz she doesn’t have cataracts forming yet (still young and vibrant). As for me, not so much. I was going to start researching natural remedies for cataracts in humans… thank you for giving me a starting point 😉 xxxoooxxx ❤️
Thank you so much. My little Sausha is a 14 year old mini-dachshund. I love learning about ways to help her maintain the best quality of life possible for her.

Great info, thank you! I appreciate you giving the doses/amount. My little jrt is 12 and he is just starting to show signs of cataracts. He also has pannus in his left eye so I will definitely be trying these treatments as he cannot do the steroid option. The aloe especially. 🙂 Cheers!

I’m confused which one for the cataract remedy?
Hello Leah , if possible please post a pic. of visiclear container
@Cactus Jane Can you make another comment on this thread about the product you mentioned? Thanks
Hello Doc, your video is amazing! Learned a lot. 🙂 Also, is it normal for a 3 year old dog to have immature cataracts?
Dr Jones, what about castor oil or MSM drops? I read that both are helpful if cataracts exist.
My elderly dog and I have them. Are the natural remedies, that you talked about, able to remove cataracts over time? Thank you.
What really works is a product called Can-C eye drops… I read about this product probably 20yrs ago… 2 weeks ago I bought some for a friend’s dog where he had a completely white eye cataract. Within 1 week giving him 2 drops twice a day, we could see the blue in his eye and now at 2 weeks, I would say half has cleared up. Funny thing he seems so much happier now and instead of laying around he wants to play again… He is in bad shape though as he is overweight and old but I loved helping him and he is obviously enjoying the new eyesight again…
Thank you so much. I’m trying out the cataract remedy’s on my dog. I’ll let you kniw
Prevention is better than cure
2:17 triphala 3:17 astaxanthin 4:45 aloe vera eye drops
It’s been 8 months… any updates?
Lanosterol is it for dogs eyes?
Hi Doc. I have question. My dog woke up blind. I’m taking her to the vet eye doctor today, but what causes a dog to go blind over night? She eats her kibble once a day, but I do give her a piece of weenie sausage every other day as a treat, sometimes a piece of cookie or sweet bread, which I eat often. My weekly diet consist of chicken and rice, and I do give my dogs a serving portion of red or white rice with chicken when I eat. Could diabetes cause blindness? Can this diet cause her to go blind within 48hrs? What do you recommend I do? Thank you very much for your time.
I haven’t tried Aloe but I have been taking Krill oil (for myself, not my dog) for 7 years now and it corrected my dry eye from taking moisture eye drops in 1.5 weeks. It is truly a miracle.
Thank you – how is the dog doing now?

DOCTOR WHAT IS THE ASTAXANTHIN DOSAGE FOR A 10LBS DOG? Please
Thank you for this awesome video Dr. Jones. We have recently bought Lumenpro for our 13 yrs old American Cocker Spaniel (Jojo) as she has developed cataract and also glaucoma. She is currently on Azopt to treat her glaucoma. We have yet to start her on the Lumenpro but would like to get your opinion on this before we start Lumenpro. Will Lumenpro helps with her cataract and if it is safe? Thank you!
I’m getting ready to try these three supplements for my dog and I currently give him 1 injection of 8units Vetsulin every 12 hours.
What supplement is more likely to clear away the actual cataracts or reduce cloudiness?
