I love goji berries! I am addicted and eat them almost every day!
Unfortunately, they don’t always contain a lot of vitamin C. It can range from as little as 29 mg per 100 grams of berries to 148 mg per 100 grams of berries, apparently, which is quite a difference. 🙁
I also love that they contain so many different nutrients, but it’s too bad that there’s no real conclusive scientific evidence to support their many health claims.
Could you make a video on a few different recipes that you use goji berries in? Maybe ones that showcase the flavour and not completely hide them? I usually throw them into a trail mix or add them to oatmeal or cereal, which is great, but other options would be nice too. 🙂
Usually eating/drinking something 7 times will alter your taste buds, so if you don’t like something at first, just keep trying and soon enough you’ll love it, e.g. I used to dislike the taste of Green Tea (Asian blaspheme :D) I used to hold my nose and gulp it down, but now I love it! Especially drinking a cup with a great book 😉 I really hope to find these berries! Thank you 🙂
I am so appreciative of your videos, they’re so helpful and informative. Unfortunately, where I live (East Coast USA) Gogi berries are $26 dollars a #. I have been looking since I saw another one of your videos with them. I want to buy some and at least try them, but consuming them on a regular basis is probably not going to happen for me. 🙁
I add goji berries to my overnight muesli! It plumps up so it’s a lot easier to eat but I do consume them in the dry form when I want to have a banana. I cut the banana in half, spread a bit of coconut almond peanut butter, and use goji berries, Chia seeds, and unsweetened coconut flakes as the toppings. ^^
oh my god, great video!! it had all the information needed, pls make videos about superfoods more often. especially about less known ones like goji berrys, love your vids 🙂
Hi I love your videos! I know that you get a lot of requests but I was wondering if you could you possibly do a low calorie deserts video? Best wishes Zoe
Joanna I’m loving your videos, you’ve helped me with fitness and healthy eating. Thank you x
Love the video Joanna! Thinking of definitely adding it to my homemade breakfast granola for sure =) Do you think you could share the recipe for the soup that you showed in the video? Definitely looks like something I would make! Shiitake mushrooms and choi are regular additions to my dinners at home =)
Also, I have an idea for a future video that I (and hopefully others) would love to see. When you talk about Qi and the habits of Chinese practictioners, I find it really fascinating! Are there some traditions that you follow? =)
Hi Joanna.. I am really really desperate of finding these goji berries online in a cheaper price. But can’t seem to find though. Do you have some websites to check out?
It would be such a great help!
XOXO from Guam 🙂
Perhaps you could try buying the teas with goji berries, Lipton has a gojii berry and raspberry tea
I have one recipe, if you’re interested.
boil
6 carrots
2 potatos
*optional* boil
cabbage
cauliflower
tomato
turnip
paprika
(almost any veggie you come up with!)
and then add 2 table spoons of goji berries, let them boil until they’re soft like the other ingredients and then blend them with a little bit of the boiling water until they are smushed. add coconut milk if you used chili or if not then some other cooking cream, but only if you think your mixture is too thick or you need some other taste in there… I’m sorry for not giving “exact” recipe, I never make this veggie soup like I did yesterday, it’s always different depending on what I have in the fridge. you can play with the amounts of veggies and test different things. I have never failed this veggie soup, it’s always tasty, but even if you do, you can put some other veggies in the soup to balance the taste. I often eat this with cottage cheece, but I’ve heard that cheese might be bad for you… but cheese really makes this soup glow!
@Bag Head Thank you! I’ll have to try that out! 🙂 It sounds delicious.
Thank Joanna for the informative video! My friends from China had suggested Goji berry to me too. I had it with soups or as tea.
Hey Joanna, I liked your profile on Goji. I’ve been eating them for years. I really love them. What I tell people when I’m trying to get them see the greatness is, don’t eat just one. East about 5 to 10 of them at once. that way you blend the bitter with the sweet. Makes for a much nicer response. Semi-sweet! Awesome! Can’t get enough. Got more? Lol. I love it, so great! Another point I use for volume of consumption is, eat as much as you can. But seriously to judge a daily allowance for any individual is a palm full. Every person’s palm is appropriate to their body size. Can’t fail. Plus every good cook should know that’s where increments of spoon sizes comes from. Pinch, dash, palm pour. Who uses spoons anyways ? Palm tells all. My palm says you can eat as much as you like, but no less than a palm full every day. For me, I see results next day. Fast metabolism and ex pro athlete. For anyone else, its not magic, just keep eating, and ask yourself in thirty days. How do you feel? You’ll know! If you don’t, well get the F off the couch, put the cookies aside. Go for a walk. DO SOMETHING! Even if it means your gonna walk down n get more cookie. Then do it! talking part is done! …….peace out,
Mr.E. (aka) Eric
P.S. I like your style. Keep it rolling!
I honestly had no idea what a Goji berry was until I went to the store and saw the brookside chocolate fruit snacks and I saw a Goji and raspberry flavor. I bought them and they taste really good and I already love the other flavors brookside has.
Thank you Joanna. An excellent and informative video. Looking forward to more videos related to healthy foods!
Thanks for the info on Gojo berries. I have recently started adding the berries to my morning smoothie and am, now enjoying a morning cup of Gojo berry tea with lemmon,
I have been eating goji berries 20 grams everyday for the last six years since January 2010 up to present. It has helped me a lot with my health conditions such as my eye problem, migraine, allergic rhinitis, urticaria, acute seborheic dermatitis, joint pains, scoliosis, frozen right shoulder, trigger finger and tendonitis. I was suffering all of this before I discovered GOJI BERRIES. I feel like a newly-born person after 3 days eating this Miracle Fruit.
I love them in everything! They are so delicious! I’m glad I found out about them. I had an eye condition and it cleared it up in a couple of days!
We chew our own organic goji berries for 30-50 grains per day. They are a little sweet, and the most important is, very healthy! We are from Tibet Plateau!
Thank you for making this video. Does the drying process reduce the nutritional potential of the berries?
Weng Mangaliman placebo effect
