57 yrs old. As a vegan to do that without a lot of carbs that source would be tofu. I don’t want to eat that much tofu so most of it comes from vegan protein powders. They’re low carb and low fat. Should I just eat a lot of avocados and walnuts, peanut butter and olive oil for the fat?

Thank you Dr. Berg. Not surprised that you’ve got nearly 7M subscribers. Wanted to share my story. I went as far as going carnivore. Emphasis on farm raised fatty, oily fish. Beef and chicken livers. Grass fed grass finished beef and lamb. Organic, pasture raised eggs. Tremendous success at lowering my blood pressure. And Weight loss was not my goal.
Hi Dr. Eric, I grew up being a person that fasts naturally. Watching this video I realise that I do a lot of these things as a personal choice which is good news. The bad news is that I struggle with focusing many times. I believe is part emotional but part of nutritional deficiency. That’s why I watch this video to inform myself.

I successfully lost 10 pounds in five weeks… l feel like a new person. It’s not about looking good in a pair of jeans, it’s our health and mental fitness. My mood and energy are back to me 🌟🥳
Been doing something similar. Around 150-200g of protein a few times a week and carb cycling with whatever is healthiest. 1> of sugar and around 1400 calories while burning 600-1100 calories through exercise. Went from 206 to 185 in just 7 weeks. Certainly recommend it for strength training and not just for losing weight. Can’t stress enough how important hitting the gym is though.

My meals every day is about 1-2 chicken breast, brown rice, vegetables, (seasoned with fajita and seasoned salt topped with 4 teaspoons of soy sauce),
Potato chips (not wheat or anything)
Half a serving. Usually around 60-80 calories and 20 carbs.
Have about 28-56 oz of water
Literally any high carb with dinner and go hit the gym. Sweet potatoes are great.
When carb cycling just replace those items that would have carbs, with kale or collard greens.
Then the next day 0 carbs.
Repeat.
Thanks for the breakdown. I have actually been on an intermittent fasting plan for a couple of years now and have to say that it feels great to be in ketosis. What I did notice was that I started to have difficulty lowering my weight at a certain point until I heard someone talk about how too much salt can actually make you retain fat and crave more food. I’ve been slightly lowering my salt intake and have been noticing a real difference. How is it that not more people talk about this?

That’s a very controversial topic. There are studies and plenty of videos on YouTube about increasing salt intake being safe and effective. Look up the salt fix. There are books and all about increasing salt. I wonder if he has a video on it? I’d love to hear his take on it.
The salt fix wasn’t specifically about losing weight though. I’m sure higher salt/sodium intake retains more water.
It takes time. For me, in my second month of keto was when I started making great strides. I rarely felt hungry. It was insane. Lost about 20lbs. Keep up the great work. Slow and steady is the best.
U will get it all back and some more. Noone can live on low carbs all life. I warned u but try to look surprised when it happens

@an 17121981 I know that you burn 1800 calories by being alive every day. I know that a 165-pound person will burn 600 calories by walking uphill at 3.0 mph (for 1 hour)
I know that weight training burns around 100-150 calories if you work multiple muscle groups until failure and if it happens to be involved with chest or core its usually more. I know that you need to burn 3600 calories to lose 1IB of fat. I know this is true because I meet my goals every week and every month. Edit: I sometimes do 2-hour cardio sessions burning over 1000 calories. I have not had to do that recently since I have gotten a 40IB weighted vest and do about 30 minutes and keep it on during weight training. Couldn’t see the exact numbers, but I have still been meeting my goals. I currently weigh 176.1 since the original comment.

I was admitted to the hospital to the ICU the week of Christmas 2021 with stage 4 heart failure and afib. They stabilized me and now I am recovering with the help of a cardiologist.
