Really helped! Currently in quarantine in Spain and this not being able to go out for a walk was hurting by lower back so badly! Very much appreciated XX
This is always a go to when my lower back gets tight and it always releases it. Amazing.
Did the sequence with my daughter, however she ignored the instructions and just did happy baby most of the time. I guess this is ok as she is just 4 months old 😀
Oh sweet xx

UM IT IS CORONA VIRUS Time
LONG TIME CONSTRUCTION WORKER HERE- Could not get relief for back pain through Physio or Osteopathy, spent lots of $$$. Been in pain for years. This routine helps a lot. Don’t know yet how it will make me feel after a month, a year? So far it’s been a week of doing this every morning and I feel relief for most of the day. Pain flares back up every morning but I think this is the best it’s been in a while. I like that the movements in this routine are gentle and controlled. The way you speak and the words you use definitely help me to relax as well. Thanks very much Adriene and I genuinely hope you never take this video down. I need it! This is my medicine. Thank you!
I’ve created a YouTube account just to leave this message.
In July 2019 i was climbing a loft ladder that turned out wasn’t fixed properly, it broke from under me and I fell about 8 feet straight onto my back, fracturing my spine.
I’ve come across your videos and I cannot begin to put into words what they’ve done for me. I don’t know if you’ll ever read this but I feel like I needed you to know what a huge positive impact you’ve had on my every day life. I trawled through yoga videos, and always found them to be very impersonal and stand offish. When I stumbled across yours I felt so relieved and relaxed, like i was doing yoga with an old friend. My pain is better every day and often i can feel it working literally as I’m doing it. No other youtuber has had that impact on me. It’s become my new lockdown routine to have Adriene in the morning and before bed. Your humour and wit has me laughing during the poses sometimes! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for changing and improving my world. X
LOL!!!
This routine cured my lower back pain. I couldn’t sit, stand, walk, hike, I couldn’t even lay down flat without feeling a hot, burning, tight, painful sensation. I’ve been doing this routine for a month but honestly the pain disappeared after a week.
It’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one who messed up their back during quarantine.
My clients (all at home now!) practice with their kids, their spouses (if they can grab them!), their pets, even their parents. It’s such a beautiful practice, mind and body, for all ages. Namaste.
There’s been a huge increase in demand for yoga while people were quarantined, and I have found many of my yogis wanting yoga to help calm the anxious mind, and keep us all grounded in these uncertain times. Yoga IS great for your back, but it really isn’t about the poses, it’s about creating a calm space in the mind (AND releasing tension from the body!!) Our issues live in our tissues – so important to keep our mental health game strong! Keep it up, best to you in Spain…and everyone else on this thread! namaste
My dogs does the same thing except they really like downward facing dog and child pose
I felt back pain today and thought ‘I have to do yoga to relief my pain.” And I did your yoga exercise. It really gives relieve to my ache. Thanks a lot!! I have to do this more often.
Wish you a steady recovery!
@Tax Evasion 03 oh okay
i like your yoga
I only started doing yoga when I suffered from depression and anxiety deep in lockdown. On top of all that my back got very sore due to lack of exercise. Your 20 minute video on yoga for back pain was my first ever yoga practice, and I loved every bit of it. it was as if you were watching me, reminding me about relaxing this or that, and making me feel like everything is going to be ok. I’m so incredibly grateful for your work. You’ve helped much more than just my back!
I always come to you when I need to feel better physically or mentally, and even though I expect this videos to help, I keep getting surprised by how much they help 😁 thank you! ❤️ Much much love…
Hope you’re feeling better, yoga has our backs : )
Love that phrase: have an Adriene
I hope you are feeling better and better each day passing by dear Paulie.
I come back to this sequence every few months whenever I aggravate my low back. It feels like coming home. I am so very thankful for you, Adriene, and the practices that you share with us.
Yes
After having online lessons for months I’ve had such a sore lower back and after doing this once I already feel so much better! I’ll be doing this daily now thank you
I hope your back will continue to improve and cause you less pain.
That is so precious! You set us up so well, Mikael! Keep up your YWA❗️
My lower back was injured by an IED while deployed to Afghanistan. I just started trying yoga to help with recovery – your videos have provided so much relief!!
Awesome. It’s amazing when you find something that actually works… 🙂
Good to hear! I’ve tweaked mine over the last few years a few times building and bending etc. – latest one was a garden renovation over the past few weeks and I REALLY upset my lower back. Looked on here for something to help and came across this vid. First time I did it I noticed the difference immediately. Repeated this one a good few times, and did some of the other back sessions too – so far, so good – it’s getting better. I’m a convert!
Tuesday 1st June – 3 hours maintenance work in the garden yesterday and an evening session at the skatepark last night left my back, hips and knees tight this morning! This helped again…
Me too!!
Maintenance worker here with arthritis in his spine, also would like to check in and say yoga really helps a ton, love this video; my new go to.
The same for me!
@Tjasa Slana 0900ⁿ9
Today is day 4 of my back pain. I did Adriene’s Yoga For Back Pain video for the past two days then I discovered this one, which is perfect for my needs. I am slowly recovering; the pain isn’t as back as the past two day and I have a greater range of motion. Changing positions is still hard, but Adriene takes it slow in this video, which is exactly what I need. I wish everyone who’s following this video healing and pain free backs.
Such a small thing to be proud of myself for, but when you said “once you feel satisfied” I realized I was NOT satisfied, paused the video, and did the whole cycle a couple more times. I have struggled for a long time to feel connected with my body, and I’m a little proud of myself for listening to it, even in this one little way.
Yep! 2014 & beyond! One of my go-to’s 😄
2022 here – my main practice for the lower back
Same lol just got a desk job after six years of working on my feet only lol big yikes
Right there with you
NO JOKE!!! Im dying of pain on day 8 😭
Been suffering with lower back pain for 5 days, tried applying cbd oil, massage with hot stones and a chiropractic adjustment, and still felt a tight burning sensation, was difficult to sit or especially lie down. After 10 mins of this yoga exercise I don’t feel pain anymore, yay! Much thanks!!! 😀
@la_goro same here, the nature of my work has kept me from recovering quickly. I would engage my psoas for hours at a time in a high impact repetitive motion. Adriens videos have been there to get me through life, and onto the road to recovery 🙏🏼
Same. Feel like I’ve aged about 20 years. Can’t believe how much my back hurts
This is one of my favorites. As some who spent 7+ hours bent over the engine of a truck on tiptoes, jamming my fingers on utterly unreachable places, this video was a life saver after hobbling out of bed this morning. Everything is sore! Hamstrings, sciatic area, shoulders, even hands..! If you ever do a yoga for mechanics video I will do it EVERYDAY. Hopefully you sometimes see the comments in old videos and maybe you’re looking for new “yoga for” ideas 💡 🤞 In any case, I’m so very grateful for this and all your videos, I have been doing daily YWA for years and it’s really made my life so much better in mind, body and spirit.
Yep! 🙋♀️
Im in the same situation. I love hiking and cant even walk right now. How do you feel 2 years later? Going to try this
