Actually, there’s this type of ice that’s safer to chew. It’s called nugget ice, its smaller and has more air in it, making it softer.
I think you can buy certain ice machines that’ll make it on amazon ♡
Even though it doesn’t taste like anything it just feels so good and relaxing.
As someone with an iron deficiency, I’m constantly chewing on ice. I chew on smaller somewhat softer pieces tho
Same 😄
I used to have iron deficiency but I never chewed on ice like a lot do idk
Samee
Woahh. Same.

Yes thts the one I have and I loveeee it’s ice 😍
As an iron deficient anaemic person, he’s right. And I don’t know how or when I stopped eating ice, but I’m glad I did.
@🍞Loaf 🍞 we just form a nation
His face at the end is everything
I absolutely love ice!! I once was done with a basketball game and my mom said I could get anything. So we went to a McDonald’s and I got a large cup of ICE!! 😂
When my mom was pregnant with me, she craved two things, ice and lettuce. The cravings lasted years after I was born but as of now, she’s over it.
Last three months I was pretty addicted to ice and i saw that video of teeth breaking and I got worried, so I went to a dentist. He checked my teeth and said I might be low on iron and he advised me on what I can eat to have iron on my body and my addiction was also because of anxiety. Now I am happy to say that I’m no longer addicted to chewing ice and I do by all means to avoid ice and cold drinks.
My way to cope with OCD somehow became making sure my teeth were healthy and avoiding anything bad for my braces like the plague. A fidget of mine also became making sure I had every single bracket on every single tooth and playing with the chains in my mouth when I had expose and bond done. I can proudly say I have white teeth and have never broken a bracket! (knock on wood)
what.
When I was in inpatient and outpatient there were ice machines and like everyone would chew ice….so yeah backing up the anxiety and ocd stuff lol. Hell, I did too and the habit has not stuck (though it was also a super soft small bits ice)
Me with ocd, anxiety, and an iron deficiency:
Well then, that clears it up
Very interesting, I was hooked on eating ice for a good 3 months, went to the doctors for stomach pain so was sent for blood tests and scans, got a call from my doctor telling me to go to the hospital urgently, I was so iron deficient and anaemic that my doctor was surprised I was even able to get out of bed or breathe properly. I had an iron infusion since then and stopped eating ice
I eat the ice in my drink when it goes in my mouth. Granted, I add like half a cup full of ice, but whatever. I’m pretty sure I have OCD, but haven’t been officially diagnosed with it. I have anxiety about random things (such as leaving my pet home alone for days), I constantly have to recheck things, like my shoes and retainer case, to make sure they’re straight. I can, however, have a partially dirty room and not care, which is why I think at least I have minor OCD. All the same, ice is fun to chomp 😅
When I was pregnant, I craved ice like crazy and it was indeed because I had low iron anemia. But, I did like ice when I was younger too. The bigger, denser pieces of ice I didn’t like, but the crushed ice (like sonic ice) was my favorite.
So I used to love eating ice but when I got older I realized you shouldn’t do that. For me it’s a sensory thing. And if it is for anyone else, get a snow cone machine for like 15 $ on Amazon it’s worth it and you can flavor it
Bentist! There are fidget toys specifically meant for chewing on for this very reason. People with oral stims ( chewing on objects, eating ice, chewing on their own skin, ect) can get silicone teething toys meant for babies but theres better options that are actually cheaper made for adults, they look cool and come in different levels of firmness based on how much and how hard you chew.
I have a few of them and theyve helped a lot. Cause I dont think playing with something like a fidget cube is going to help someone who is chewing on things.
The best iced eat and chew on especially while pregnant is either the sonic ice or Chick-fil-A ice they’re a lot softer. Both of my pregnancies I was extremely anemic and that’s the primary reason I chewed on ice. After pregnancy and before I never ate ice.
Same
@Royale Moon fr I don’t have mental health problems and this explains why
@XEnderBeeX if you dont like my comment don’t look at it
@macaroon it’s literally the first comment
@IDC regardless its a cry for attention.
I’m not arguing with someone I don’t know
I actually am borderline anemic and have been diagnosed with anxiety and the anemia and I asked them this question and pretty much the same answer.
@macaroon then why are you
I have a tiny bit of OCD,A decent amount of anxiety, and already have a fidget
Why is this so correct
Interesting, I love chewing ice and I’ve been anemic most of my life never would have put that together. I chew everything tho, yogurt, ice cream, etc. I usually used crushed ice tho not cubes
Best flights ever !
