The actor spoke freely regarding his family's history with dependency and stated that 5 years from currently, he really hopes people will claim that he's "sober as well as satisfied" as well as seeing his youngsters consistently.

I feel bad for him that his family fell apart but im happy to see his doing better 😊
I admire his openness and honesty about his struggles, I’ve never been a huge Ben Affleck fan. But, I think I’m definitely going to check out his new film. As I’ve had my own struggles with grief over loss loved ones and deep sadness which has crippled me emotionally and personally lately. He’s pretty relatable here and courageous I do wish him the best. Seeing him caught by the paparazzi drunk/intoxicated was pretty sad.
I appreciate how open and honest he is!! May God keep him strong!!!🙏🏾💪🏾
This interview is everything! Thank you Ben. I never was a fan of your acting or skill. But now I can’t relate to you and your pain. Thank you for sharing this. You’re a champion.
Love him, I respect and support him so much. He’s very talented, just made some mistakes and he acknowledge that, he’s very human
This really helps me a lot being an alcoholic myself but I’m still struggling, Ben is inspirational
You can just hear the pain in his voice.. Poor guy.. I can literally feel it just listening to him…
Love it! Sober guy here as well and it’s not easy. Being vulnerable can be our super powers. Job well done Ben!
Thank you for the honesty, my son struggles with anxiety. It was shocking to hear you were on medicine since 26 and that there are side effects and that it may take time to find the right one that helps you. No one wants to be alone in the their struggle and no one has all the answers.
Amen
He’s a good dude. Who knows how many people he is helping by disclosing his own struggles.
Stellar interview. Wishing Ben continued sobriety and peace. Diane is lovely.
I’m not his biggest fan . I do like good will hunting and have a lot of respect for anyone that got to be with Jennifer garner.
Love his vulnerability and realness in opening up. One is never alone, so ask for help if you need it. You got this Ben!!!! <3
I struggle with alcohol and drug addiction Ben motivated me to fight and stay clean I totally relate with the depression that come with my addiction. If you read this I’m praying for you to be happy and the best life you can have.
Thanks for your kind words. 3 days off weed for me. I was taking it to try and beat my depression. In the end it only made it worse. There is a strength that you feel in saying no.
I truly believe, eyes never lie. He definitely regrets some past moments. Good to see a person, famous or not, find a way to straighten up
check out The Town
Me neither not a huge fan, but his honest got me to watch this…I wish him the best🙏🏾
So impressed with his honesty! Wishing him sobriety and happiness-
Thank you to Ben Affleck and a few other celebrities who are coming out with mental health honesty. It does actually make a difference. It helps us less than successful realize we can still have hope despite our honestly evil demons. Human nature is either boring or plagued. Hoping I can make my life satisfactory despite the devil in my subconscious
The ppl I listened to was some of whom tried the CBD oil, for anxiety, sleep, panic attacks, and it helped them.
I hear it too. I’m glad he’s sober now and getting the help he needs.
He reminds me of Scott Peterson 😩😩🙏🏻
@elisabeth dakak no one said it’s a cure, and I am a satanist soooo this is awkward
@elisabeth dakak This is true, and I’m working on it 🙂
@elisabeth dakak I am aware – and thank you for the advice 🙂
8.5 years sober here. So awesome when I find out celebrities have made it onto the other side of addiction. Thank you for your transparency Ben!
I love Ben for being so up front…about alcoholism…it’s very important when a major celebrity speaks up…
Ben jus needs to move to a small town, work a blue collar job 40 like his character in good will hunting… I think he would be happier surrounded by average people that by the likes of hollywood…
Best wishes for you Sean you can beat it! ❤
@Mark G. Hi, Mark. Just wanted to come back and say thank you for this message that made me contact AA. I’m in recovery now, and not just hanging on a thread like I used.
7 days sober and fighting it hard, seeing this gives me strength and encouragement, thanks Ben.
He’s an actor. You’d be just as rehearsed if you were too.
Goin on 6 days for me. I fell pretty good but psychologically it’s rough still.
Great message! Dealing with addiction is always difficult. Getting and staying sober is never easy but it’s worth the effort.
You don’t know him. We’re all actors on and off the camera
You can do it!!
@John M – You still sober? You got this.💪🏼
@John M Hope you’re doing well mate.
hell yeah!
@Natalie you think only people who are poor and have to do manual labor are depressed? I have a birth defect. It’s be really easy for Me to roll my eyes at him at how lucky he is but depression doesn’t discriminate. Neither does addiction.
