Homie ain’t getting Covid, I know that for sure
I love that Sylvia is his interventionist in this episode. She herself was on one of these Intervention episodes as an alcoholic… she’s truly the embodiment of what greatness can happen with your life after recovery. Now she helps others. It’s beautiful.
I was in rehab years ago with a lady who drank sanitizer and mouth wash. This is more common then ppl not in addiction would think. It’s heart wrenching
You can tell he’s a really great guy. Some biological fathers won’t even step up for their kids and he did at age 19 for a wife and two children that weren’t even his! I really hope he’s happy and healthy now.
This is one of the 1st families I’ve seen on this show that’s actually very loving and normal. You can also tell Jousha himself is very smart
That’s scary when you’re a parent
It’s great to hear him say that he finally realized it was beyond his control. We as addicted persons are not powerless over SO many things, but over alcohol, we have no control. One sip is too many because one sip is never just one. My prayer for you, Josh, is that you realize SO much is left for you in life, you are so much more than just your behavior or mistakes.
What a great human being, I hope he replenished everything he lost.
He is one genuine dude, “I drink hand sanitizer and decided to move to a place and I got to reinvent myself” heart of gold right there
Watching these videos has really made me realize that I have a pretty bad drinking problem. My moms an alcoholic and so was my dad ( he’s been sober for decades now ) and for the past year I’ve been drinking almost everyday. Once I turned 21 in January it got so bad, I didnt go a day without drinking until this past April on Easter. After that I drank everyday up until yesterday. I got home from work and just told myself I wouldn’t drink. I had no cravings whatsoever and I’m excited to essentially have my life back and still have the possibility of social drinking in the future. I don’t know what came over me, for months I kept telling myself I was fine and that it’s not like I’m drinking a 12 pack of beer everyday. It doesn’t matter how much you’re drinking, getting drunk everyday is what really matters. I pray all of you out there with severe alcoholism take a step in the right direction and acknowledge you have a problem. That’s the first step in the right direction.
Heh?
@Tardy Toe l
What?
Watching this made me remember of my own issues. It’s was similar to Josh. I lost a company I built when I was a teenager, I lost three jobs, my girlfriend and child and was forced to move back home with my mom. Drinking and getting high was the only way to numb the pain. I even went to therapy after losing my brother to suited which pushed me further into the numbing up. I’m still not ok but everyday I didn’t drink or get high I feel like myself. Hope Josh gets back on track ☺️.
It just makes me sad. So many people are suffering and they don’t deserve it.
Wise words
Wow you can totally do this! A day at a time ❤️ hope you are doing well today
Scary and felt so bad when his mother was talking about him growing up to be addicted to hand sanitizer. You could see that she was broken and shocked by the means of addiction. That must have been such a horrible way to go. R.I.P. Josh.
I love how supportive his family was during the intervention. Addicts don’t need to be shamed they need love and support. Praying for his recovery and wishing him the best in life. I can’t wait to be a psychologist and help people with addictions.
@Commissar Yarrick Addiction doesn’t check your IQ
He died 2 years ago from internal bleeding because of this addiction to hand sanitizer
@Travis Fresh SO SAD
I’m happy this show is surprisingly sweet in nature (from the episodes I’ve seen so far) and it’s really nice to see addictions being treated with the kindness they deserve
My dad used to break perfume or cologne bottles when he couldnt get a drink 😕
I have also been addicted to alcohol very badly, among other things, and I can say that even in my worst of the worst moments, I NEVER and would never talk to my mother or father the way he does. He’s extremely disrespectful and the addiction is absolutely no excuse.
All that said, he does seem like a very smart individual and I’m glad he’s doing better.
He’s definitely holding himself better than I imagined someone drinking detergent would be. If he sounds this competent while doing it, imagine how intelligent he can be without it.
He’s not drinking soap. He’s drinking hand sanitizer. Not the same thing.
All of these stories are sad but this one was BEYOND heartbreaking. This man had all the potential in the world to be great & he really was for the short time he could be.
If you don’t go through it you can’t possibly understand how hard this is…and hearing the people you actually love tell you how bad you’re hurting them just makes it worse in my opinion. Most addicts can’t think clearly & they internalize EVERYTHING. I just don’t think intervention in this way is the best thing for the sick person….unless it guilt trips them enough to go to rehab. Idk…just seems cruel to do to a person who already hates themself.
@Travis Fresh What, really?
Little update for y’all who might actually care. I’ve gone from drinking everyday for months to drinking when I want to. I no longer drink during nights I have to work the next morning, and I have refrained from drinking on the weekends for the most part. The 4th just passed so I can’t lie I partied quite a bit that week but the weekend after I didn’t have a sip of beer! Didn’t drink a drop the week after the 4th but I can comfortably say I’m sitting here at home having a couple beers feeling great about the choice I’ve made. Not only am I saving money and losing weight, I’m slowly being able to start living a sober life again ( which I haven’t lived since freshman year in highschool ) I smoked weed everyday up until about a year ago and I guess that’s the driving factor as to why I started drinking so much. It was strange for me to be sober as a whole. It’s a great feeling to wake up in the morning knowing I have an entire day where I can be productive rather than hungover!
@Commissar Yarrick a lot of geniuses were alcoholics or had substance abuse issues, doesn’t take away from their genius.
@Slicer Vorzakh Try not drinking water, let me know how that goes.
Yeah, that’s not what you meant by “don’t drink”. But, you responded to something by twisting what the person said also.
@A Its the internet, he wasn’t “late to the party” by responding a week later…😆 gimme a break.
@Max Herrlin keep it up! And good on you!
@Me Mye I didn’t know!
@Lulu Interrupted “Treats them how they are supposed to be treated”. Why exactly are they ‘supposed’ to be treated like that? They messed their own life up by picking the wrong guy and having kids with him and now some guy who doesn’t know any better is ‘supposed’ to help fix her mistakes? GTFOH with that. She made her bed now let her lay in it.
can someone post the link to her episode
Definitely hits home. I struggled with alcoholism for many years but was able to break away with the three Cs. Christ, Cannabis and Coffee. Addiction was (for myself and many others), the scariest thing I have had to go through in life. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. RIP.
@evzv $96000 a year isn’t too bad
R545 oh i Kik iik+k+(j
Congratulations to all the people out there in recovery. Nobody said it would be easy, because it definitely is NOT. But just that small chance…that shred of knowledge and dignity, respect for life, especially your own…can make waves when it comes to change. I salute you all.❤️
Ah man. That is so very sad. I know a little about alcoholism myself for a number of reasons. And I’m just guessing but the internal bleeding may have been caused by varicose veins that develop in a heavy drinker’s stomach. They can then rupture causing massive blood loss. A terrible end for someone that really did deserve to get better and be happy.
@Doug K The guy in the video tells you the answer to this.
You could spend $10+ on a small flask of 40% vodka. Or you can pay $1.39 for for a small flask of 80-90% alcohol.
How are you doing? Are you in a program or something? My Best wishes for you 🙏🏻❤️😎
@OsKar I got the help I needed. I chose to go back to studying as a way of turning things around. Thanks alot ❤️
Any alcoholic will resort to this when detoxing at home just to avoid the side effects of detoxing …
@Kathleen O’Donnell Right, I get that. Even if you are through detoxing and it is purely psychological.. the overwhelming obsession with the substance could lead you to suffer through a bottle of hand sanitizer. Choosing it, though, when you have options.. I don’t get. Unless it is some type of self harm thing because you think so lowly of yourself because of your disease.
@Timbales1979 lol I didn’t know this until I watched this episode.
Yep just in 7th grade I drank hand sanitizer after getting drunk off it one other time
That doesn’t make him great. That makes him weak..any strong alpha man in their right mind would never take on responsibility of multiple mistakes a women has made in her past..
@lovemyreptiles excellent comment!
@Coriolis Chill out, be happy.
I’m pretty sure hand sanitizer with alcohol was banned in the UK years ago. As was mouthwash.
Doctors throw addictive pain meds at people without a care. They are the biggest drug pushers of all. I hope Josh continues to thrive.
@Dave Richer yes Jesus asks us to do the right thing and support! But the devil has other plans doesn’t he. So it is up to us to be there for someone like that.
He passed away September 202O
a few years after this was made
🌟😐🙏☘️
🤣🤣🤣
@Timbales1979 I didn’t know
lolol I had the exact same thought 🤣
Unfortunately he’s dead now
