3. My Grandmother had this December 2019 and lasted a few weeks. Overnight she went from perfectly fine, to trying to use a Kleenex box to turn on the window. The Doctors first told us she was old and we said no way she was fine yesterday. Eventually they found the UTI and then they had to treat it. I have no idea why it took them so long to determine that. Use the UTI was cured she was pretty much instantly back to being as smart as a tap, old and with the usual pains and problems but her mind was fixed.

5. my boyfriend constantly wonders why i’m so extra when cleaning myself after intercourse, but i told him it’s because i’d rather be safe than sorry, i hate getting uti. i don’t stop cleaning myself until i feel fresh down there. if i can’t shower, i’ll use baby wipes for the time being. i’ve gotten so paranoid i’ll feel nonexistent itching oml and when i’m in pain, my boyfriend would guess i’m having menstrual cramps but bruhhh i’d rather have cramps than uti 😭

17. Just my own summary from different sources in how to treat a UTI:
    – Antibiotics
    – Drink LOTS of water (UTI’s can return so when the pain goes away, aim to drinking 6-8 glasses of water every day and no less).
    – For pain management: painkillers, hot water bottles, hot showers.
    – Look after your immune system (fruit and veg + try to minimise stress) as UTIs can go away on their own in healthy individuals.
    – Lots of sleep for healing + pain management.
    – Don’t do any high intensity activities when you’re receiving treatment for pain/UTI! You don’t want to aggravate it or make it worse.
    – Cranberry extracts may help prevent further infections, but you might just be masking a big problem if a previous UTI hasn’t gone away completely.
    – Tip: Ask your doctor about the bacteria that they found as this may help you to understand how to manage the infection better. Best to discuss with your doctor as some bacteria do linger and more stubborn than others, especially those that are resistant to antibiotics.
    – Another tip: If you feel a UTI-related pain returning, definitely keep record of it and see a doctor (don’t wait for the pain to become unbearable!)

18. I’m on day 2 of antibiotics I’m taking ciprofloxacin for 10 days, my diet isn’t clean but I’m just staying away from coffee. I’ve been drinking 2 liters of water a day and cranberry juice! Hopefully my symptoms go away by next week :((

19. @Kayona Morgan go to an ER immediately or the Bacteria can go to your kidneys I’m barely on my second day treatment and hoping this will go away by next week. Tell your mom about this too get help right away!!

20. Hey, if you’re in pain from a UTI right now then I’m sorry to hear that. It is a frustrating pain. You are a strong person and I hope you feel better. Hopefully drinking a lot of water will help.

21. I got terrified the first time I saw blood in the toilet even though I wasn’t on my period. It’s so relieving to know that UTI’s are normal and it happens. It sucks, I was crying, pleading it to stop because it was so uncomfortable before, but the comfort is reassuring.

    To anybody looking for things to help, Ibuprofen, a lot of water, pure cranberry juice, yogurt, probiotics, antibiotics, and a strong will are the best things you can do to help. Stay strong, it’ll go away eventually, and you’ll get through it! Good luck, and I’m so sorry you have to go through this.

22. I literally worked thru the pain all day today and I work on cars so it was arguably worse but I felt bad wanting to leave work bc there’s only 2 technicians and we’re so swamped. Now I’m literally sitting on the toilet reading all these comments while nothing comes out and it’s been 54 minutes since the shop closed. Thank God I have a key to lock up with.

Hii… 2-3 days back I’ve had the symptoms of UTI like frequent urge to urinate, uncomfort in pelvic area etc. Then it stopped completely after 2-3 days… Also I had to travel in the mean time so my back started hurting (flank pain) and I got my periods as well.. So I’m confused this back pain is due to UTI and the infection is getting enlarged or something else… I have only flank pain no UTI symptoms anymore…???
    Do you have any idea about it???
