Egan-Lloyd Holton that’s incorrect, if I’m understanding what you meant correctly.
They maybe don’t spend as much time doing conventional lifting as some might think (they still do a lot), but they do tons of drills. And I’m not sure it’s done on every team but for the Warriors (my brother in law works for the team) but players essentially have things they’re working on individually (e.g. Curry spends a ton of time working on coordination drills) and they beat those into the ground.
And they still do conventional type working out a few times a week also… so yeah, they are absolutely working their asses off. “They have the talent already” which is true, but so do all the people that want to take their jobs. Athletes these days are working or recovering every day

@Why? that will only work so much at a certain level. Fighting others that have the same grappling pedigree will pose an issue if you have nothing else to answer the problems they create. Everyone you’ve mentioned has decent stand up. They’re typically just fed opponents that don’t have an answer to their wrestling though. That doesn’t work on everyone. At the highest level, nearly every athlete that has a belt outside of Khabib is versed at handling grapplers or have immaculate takedown defense.

@A A look at Yoel, he does not need BJJ, just wrestling. And if you think wrestling is not as cardio demand as MMA, then try to do a 3-minute wrestling round and you will see. Olympic caliber is another level compare with NCAA Div 1, which is mostly Khabib at.
