I’m sober 3 years. Lost 50 pounds, saved alot of money and made many other changes too 💪
I’m starting today after 10 years of moderate to heavy consumption. Please wish me luck 😞
2 months into my long term sobriety and I feel free from alcohol and all that goes along with it. Don’t want to ever drink again and also gave up smoking…. Feeling great…..
5 months sober now….
18 months, wooo hooo!!!!
@JT thanks. My bro from Australia 💪😎👍
I’ve been without any weed or alcohol for 83 days. I can’t even believe it. One day I said lets see how long I can last, thinking it would be a week.
Last drink I had was November 21, 2001! Looking forward to celebrating 20 years sober next year!
Been a heavy drinker for 20+ Years. Today is my 6th day without any alcohol. And i woke up this morning feeling energetic and great. It’s been a long time since i felt this good. I’m going to try and remember this feeling next time i’m tempted to crack open a beer (Which should be about any time now…….. In fact just typing this has made me want one.. But i’m not going to do it).
Well done, keep up the great work
Sobriety delivers everything alcohol promised.
I’m 40 days no drinks ! I don’t know how long I want to do it but I feel great whoever needs to hear this. YOU CAN DO THIS!
30yrs of moderate to heavy drinking every single day. Just made 30 days sober without rehab and losing weight and starting to feel fantastic. I’m too scared to go back to my old ways so here’s to getting healthy. 💪
I’m a Muslim, so I never drink alcohol even once. I’m starting to have an active lifestyle and tried to cut sugary drinks, it was really2 hard for me..for those who struggle with diet and try to stop smoking and drinking beers, I wish you all the best and don’t give up 🙂
I quit cigarettes and Islam in 2020 …feeling healthier and more interesting every day
@Nat Dialogue what is your religion now?
Two weeks sober, eating healthy and exercising regularly and for someone who drank most days ate crap and was a couch potato I’m proud of myself.
Addiction: Lose everything to get one thing.
Sobriety: Give up one thing to get everything.
Been drinking 14 years everyday, started when I was 16 thought it was cool, turned into an addict. But now changing my life! 2 weeks sober now. It’s hard but pushing thru it
@Versus getting rid off conditioning is a very good religion. When you stop seeing muslims, christians and all kind of other labels, and you start seeing humans just like you.
I’m at 2.5mo sober (Jan 2nd, 2022) and starting to think I can drink again. Reading all these amazing stories has helped me realize I need to not drink. Thanks everyone!
Having now been without alcohol for 11 years , i can confirm , life is far better without it. In nearly every way. Yes one misses that effect a couple of drinks gives you…. But the adrenaline from exercise and contentment from being able to achieve so much more in other areas of life far far outways anything booze gives. And savings are massive. 🤗👍🏻🕸
What is interesting to me in retrospect, is that it’s just so easy to slide right into alcoholic and/or extreme binge drinking tendencies with relatively little realization that it’s happening. At least for me. I went from casual social drinking to full blown alcoholic in almost no time flat. 4 years of being drunk non stop. It really takes it’s mental and physical toll.
The wonderful folks in these comments aren’t lying to you at all……life really is better without the alcohol all the time. 1 month sober and still getting it!
@Clay Pylant hey buddy… I’m still around but not been too successful if I’m honest. I think I need professional help now. I do hope you are well ❤
@Marky I appreciate your honesty. I will be praying for you. The Lord Jesus Christ can help. Call on his name.
@Clay Pylant ❤❤
A quote my mom always told me: “the pain of discipline is always better than the pain of regret.”
Congrats!
@Seth Belfort My health is bad either way. But there are some things with it such as more energy and better immune response I have observed. But Mental health takes a nose dive.
@Seth Belfort Anxiety and depression are not great on the body either but yeah I agree. Just mental health takes a severe hit.
Last drink for me was on October 11th, 1996… 25 years clean and sober. Stopping drinking is the best decision I made in my life. I stopped poisoning my body .. and started living my best life.
@Nat Dialogue …🤣😂
@Versus born again Bassman
Started drinking towards the end of an abusive relationship from absolute hell, to escape the emotional turmoil and unbearable pain. 2 years of alcoholism, relapsed twice, ended up in hospital with DTs. That was the turning point for me. Never going back to that dark place, again. 💪❤
That’s a goodun! 😉
Any updates ?.
I am 68 and 45 years sober and fitter than most 30 year olds. Life is so much better without it. Stick with it you won’t regret it.
Over a year without smoking but I sure do miss it! I don’t plan on quitting alcohol completely but I am cutting down to only a few drinks every weekend. I don’t believe a few beers or even a bowl of weed here and there is necessarily a bad thing especially if you eat healthy and exercise regularly
Describes me perfectly, over a 5 year period went from rare drinker to daily binging. Sober now thank goodness.
How’re is going? Hopefully well!
Don’t worry…It won’t last.🤣🤣🤣
Good work
Nice work
CuppaT, how have you been feeling and looking?
I did the 40 day no alcohol. Amazing feeling how the body and mind responds. After that, I totally cut down to almost no alcohol. I only have one craft beer to watch a ballgame every now and again. I have lost my taste for hard liquor, wine and cheap beer. My mindset has completely changed.
I’ve done the 40 day total stop. Was not hard because I was not addicted or a daily drinker. For those who are, the hardest thing would to start and pass the 5 day stop. After that, it’s a breeze! Try it!
“contentment from being able to achieve so much more in other areas of life”… that is the million dollar statement! Well said!
I just hit 45 days. It’s so amazing! I wasn’t expecting such dramatic transformation, but I’m 15 pounds down and have lost over 4 inches on my waistline. I’ve been drinking pretty much every night for the past 14 years. My plan is to take a break for a solid year.
weird fucking thing to say
Exactly
Great quote.
@Bobby Antrobus Just because it’s a plant doesn’t mean it’s not a drug.
@Bobby Antrobus I was a chronic smoker for years. All my mates still are. Bud causes long term irreversible changes to your psychoactive mind. So i’m well aware how it’s affected me.
Amazing!!!!
Keep going!
Amazing comment, you are genius!
@Corey Mongiat you just need to restore your dopamine receptors. It takes time. Eventually you will see that it’s curable. Best of luck.
use the wim hof method to keep going
What’s the update?
Hi! How are you getting on? Lots of us would like an update. Stay strong, you are worth it 👍🏻
4 days after I was born!!! Congrats for making it this far!
Thats fantastic, massive respect to you.
Congrats!!!!!! Props 💯💯💯💯🙌🏻
Congratulations keep going 👏 💪 👍 🙌
Regarding drinking, my mom always said: “Every day is not a party.” Meaning, save the drinking for rare and special occasions and you won’t have any problems.
@Nathan Hughes all Muslims are alcohol free. We don’t even sell it in our countries.
@Nicky Cotton I’ve been doing all my AA meetings via zoom. There’s a ton. Been Sober now for 10 months and life is great. I’m able to be present and active in my family’s life and be the dad I need to be for my daughter.
@Shadow Man = Poor you, Poor you, Pour yourself another Drink.
@Andrew Peterson = Can’t fault that. There’s great Meetings in Swansea, Cardiff & Weston-super-Mare tbf. Glad you’re coping well + got Fam’ to love/care for etc. Must give a LOT of Self Worth etc etc.
