I’ve lived most of my life on a carnivorous diet. As a kid my parents were very busy and were building the future at the expense of having me grow up with my grandparents who lived in a village by the mountain. Grandad was a hunter and he mainly consumed animal foods such as milk, yogurt, cheese, butter, and meats that’s what we had on a daily basis with very little veg. Eventually I moved to the big city with mom and dad and we started having loads of takeaways such as Chinese, McDonald’s, Pizza and what not and I went fat and felt horrible for a few years until we were in a position that they were super busy again and ended up bringing grandparents to the city to help them with me. My grandmom realized what happened and she put me on a low carb diet and within a year I got slim and healthy again. Eventually I grew up and was reading a lot about nutrition cause I was interested in boxing and lifting so I researched a lot and did quite a few mistakes along the way but now at the age of 28 I’ve learned what my body feels best on. This happens to be sort of a keto diet but I also have stuff like apples, and berries and some honey every now and again.
This combined with cryotherapy could drastically increase brown fat composition and in turn increase longevity and overall health?! Great stuff as always Tom. Currently, I am building a business as a health coach so I can leave bedside nursing, and this is the kind of material that will help me help my clients’ health.
Love keto .. will always love keto.. that combined with fasting has taken me from an a1c over 14 at diagnosis .. to an a1c of 5.1 without diabetes meds .. also lost tons of weight…

Well said Amanda, even though I’m not much overweight added a few pounds after getting a bulging disc cleaning my kitchen and knocked a glass over, the sudden movement to stop the glass falling left me with one of the most painful injuries in my life..As an ex Rugby player I had enough injuries but the sciatic that followed my slipped disc was horrible and last a full 3 weeks before I got some relief..I then hoped to get back to my regular exercise and walking , but I found the exercise was increasing pain and had many failed attempts..However as I’ve been getting inflammation in my left thigh and knee I’ve looked at going on a keto diet, your post has now cleared any doubts I’ve had..Thank you for this simple but powerful post 👏👏👏, sorry for my long reply but at 70 I thought maybe it’s too late , you’ve given me the incentive 🙏✊

@Lil Kira burgers aren’t really that bad, admitedly there are burgers and then there are burgers. it’s the upsell to large cups of carbonated sugar water and fries in canola oil that do the damage. then there are the portions if you have large portions of anything and don’t burn it off with exrecise you will gain weight. vegetarian grass is suposedly not fattening yet when fed copious quantities , cows and sheep get fat.
I too am a vegan……I get my vegies concentrated in the form of meat , eggs and dairy

What really amazes me is just how exact the opposition in the Keto view is, to what we are told by mainstream medical. The mainstream medical position is incredibly destructive to health and longevity. Tom, you and Steven are brilliant. You do the best interviews I have ever seen.
For your joint pain, take a marble size amount of Neem powder dissolved in a shot-glass size of Braggs apple cider vinegar, with two or three (1950 mg) capsules of turmic curcumin every morning on an empty stomach. Works for me. Good for a lot including digestive. It is rough to do, to swallow bitter and sour but worth it. Never eat eggplant which is an inflammatory but ginger is an antiflamatory so eat ginger, cut into coin’s, make ginger tea and fresh ginger to soups…
There is a book called, Eat Right For Your Type and it is eating for your blood type which makes sense to me.
The foods you had when you put in weight were highly processed, as well as having high Carbs. Many people have diets with healthy, low processed Carbs eg. Fruit, wholegrain breads and pastas and are quite healthy. Fully Raw Christina eats many raw fruits and no animal products, she is very healthy. Have you tried a less processed diet with lots of fruit and vegetables. I’m interested because many people doing well on keto seem to be comparing it to a pretty unhealthy diet that has lots of bad processed Carbs. How does keto compare to other healthy, fresh diets?

I had bad inflammation of the right leg & a bit of a pot belly happening even though I was on the ‘unhealthy’ or mainstream keto diet. Changing to healthy ketosis reduced the inflammation in the leg dramatically & the pot belly is on the way out. I’ve only been doing ketosis the healthy way for maybe 6 weeks or so.

@lilliana Longhi been on low carb for 1-1/2 years. Saw immediate improvement in all symptoms in about 3 weeks. Just 2 months ago switch to more of a carnivore diet and saw even better and more amazing improvements.
Everyone is different. But for some, myself included, carbs are just poison.

I love how Tom doesn’t need to get a lot of clarification from Dr Gundry because Dr. Gundry’s conversation is already so simplified and detailed in a story book sort of way. I experienced the same thing after cutting white sugars and most carbs with intermittent fasting. Suddenly my fingers weren’t cosntantly swollen. I lost weight (10kgs) and slept more, exercised more and was able to start running again.

Not about Keto diet, but about raw food diet – people who eat raw food loose much more weight and faster comparing to keto diet, and this happens because of polyphenols. That’s why I loose around 1 pound a day when I drink vegetable juice. And raw food diet seems much more healthy comparing to keto, because we still get carbs and results are better
What a great video, I really love Steven Gundry and how he explains things in a easy to understand manner. I regularly follow his food pyramid he made and also adopted a keto lifestyle. I lost 100 pounds the first year I was on it and it reversed my hypoglycemia entirely, no more having to carry around glucose tablets. I’m not even close to being a diabetic anymore. I have lots more energy and I feel more alive than I ever have before.
Keto relieved me of gastrointestinal issues, increased my alertness and energy, toned my skin, removed cravings and helped me lose weight quickly.
What I got out of this was, keto as we all know it is bad, just do IF.
