As a psychotherapist, I must add that the root cause of all the addictions is dopamine addiction but that can be replaced by getting dopamine by doing good things too. High Intensity workout, achieving small goals, following a routine, being productive & a good sleep – all of these are a source of good dopamine 👌🏻🔥
As I sit here in lockdown, basically from March 2020 at this point, I think about this.
I have been working hard to keep positive, trying to improve my life. Tbh, living my own life is not a great thing. Too much stress, isolation, and responsibilities. I keep trying though, but it makes it hard to take advice from a young, obviously wealthy, young man littered with opportunities. His life is not my life. I would rather live his life too.

ive done all kinds of fasts, and my best was 4 days no water no food, no technology – I said I would do this detox 1x a month, but its been so challenging I stuck to routine 1-2 days instead… and its not reaching my goal but good enough for keeping off bad habits and keeping healthy
7:45, I love this guy, this is what literally every expert out there experiences, you might not hear it from them but they do have set backs and lack motivation, it takes discipline and determination to get back into the game.

Hey man. Awesome video! You really gave me a little bit of motivation to try this detox. I’ve always felt like every day was going too fast and I was constantly giving in to my urges and addictions. I sometimes skipped my workouts for some stupid excuses I’d always try to find. But starting tomorrow, I’ll try and do this detox for at least two days while I’m having school. I’m 16 now and I want to change my life for the better. The life I had always wanted to live.

Do you find yourself playing on your phone like the rest of us?
I honestly came across this video at the perfect time. Recently I’ve been really struggling to overcome bad habits and develop productive behaviours and hobbies, but it’s been so difficult. I realised that I only started really struggling with these “addictions” a couple of years ago, which was when Covid first hit. Due to lockdowns and staying at home for long periods of time (including for work), I developed bad habits such as very poor sleep routines (i.e. sleeping late and waking up late), eating very poorly (I snack a lot and have put on significant weight) and using my phone a lot.
Hopefully this video will provide the motivation I need to fight against these bad habits and temptations. I’ve realised that I really do need to fight against my brain if I am to overcome these habits, and it will require me to consciously moderate my thoughts and activities.

@CoolSkeleton95 you are right that achieving goals is very satisfying, but I now never get that feeling, I am just aim less at this point all my hobbies and interests are gone and I stopped using social media and waking up early but that doesn’ t make a difference as I don’t have any goals or wishes so I just go with the day and question random things of life and just sleep. I am sorry if it is all very random but I thought I should let it out for once.

I am going to try this minus the music part. Music has helped me keep on track with my morning routine. Each song timed to go a certain thing like shower, brushing of teeth, etc. by the time a certain song is played certain tasks are done. Plus it helps me calm down because I can be overly stimulated by sounds (I’m autistic and loud noises or things that are causing me auditory discomfort) can cause me to panic.
Everything I’ll gladly do. I got plenty of books I wanna read, things I wish to paint, and codes I need to write for my portfolio.

I agree, I don’t exactly see a reason to remove music. It is not exactly something that would demotivate me but instead motivate me and keep me focused.
I came back after 150 days of doing this. It has been a challenge, and it was not fun the first couple of days. But this video gave me the motivation to turn my life around, from a 7 hours of screen time a day life to something much better. I am still going strong. Thank you.

I’m an alcoholic. I went to rehab (90 days) and they sorta(?) explained it to me, but honestly, this makes much more sense. I relapsed about a month after I got out. My brain clearly wanted more and I fed it. We were shown videos of MRI’s; cocaine, meth, heroin, alcohol, and other barbiturates. From my understanding, alcohol was the most dangerous. Maybe that’s why I can’t speak regularly and jump from the beginning of a story to the end, to the middle, back to the beginning then back to the end.

I see music as a huge motivator sometimes when I’m working out. However when I listen to music my mind wanders and forget exactly what I was doing. I think that’s where the OP was going through with music. Taking a walk and hearing nature. Driving and taking the scenery in. Being in the moment. Some music changes our mood and emotion during the track. I saw one comment that emphasized certain music that engages detoxing. I like to hear nature/calm music when meditating.

I had done a week of doing this and it changed me so much, I felt a different person coming out of it and made me realise the importance of things outside of instant dopamine hits. I am forever grateful for this video and strongly recommend you try this as it can change the unhealthy habits of daily life.

@Vanish u can do anything if u work hard enough. But u cant get the same life u see on a screen. And the difference between a viewer and the actual influencer is that his job is doing this. Its alot harder to achive this when u got a normal job, and maybe even children or other duties
kinda late here, but here’s a fun fact: i am suspected to have ADHD, and people with ADHD naturally have less dopamine production, which leads to a lot of consequences like hiperfocus, procrastination, spike of interest and sudden disinterest… Your style of editing makes it perfect for people with ADHD. I don’t get “tired” from watching your video and neither listening to watch you’re saying. Keep up the good job, mate 😀
I try to do it but a key part of this I feel is that you need to have friends and people to talk to outside. I don’t have that so I rely on social media a lot.
