The nation needs to hear this! One of the best I’ve seen.
Thank you
Thanks
I am so glad to find your channel quite accidentally. Your explanation is awesome, so easy to understand even the complicated things. Keep it up sir.
Thank you Kolli Ramu. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. It’s only complicated until you understand it. Most people don’t see the big picture that’s why they can’t make it simple.
This is what doctors should be telling to their patients. Not prescribing pills. Thank you Doc!!!!

Thank you very well explained! After following this way of eating. For years now it all makes sense. And it works if you stick with it. Allow yourself set backs. Stay consistent and you will become a great fatburner! 👍 I started on a carnivore/keto type diet and find it works Great for me long term. But what really got me to the next level. In fat loss. Was keeping my insulin levels down. During the day with IF as well.
They should make this mandatory to watch in all High Schools in the USA.
I am a 77 yr.old diabetic & I thank you for taking the time to explain a low carb. diet
Thank you JAMES D. SMITH. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile.
Thank you Trifive garage for sharing your story. That is great. I am so happy you have had such great results. Keep it up! You are absolutely right. If a low carb doesn’t work then try fasting. We are all different.
Thank you Harry Langley. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile.
Your exactly right doc! I went from 400 to 100 sugar level in 2 and 1/2 weeks- I cut out sugar completely, only eat healthy fats and protein , walk and incorporate weight training and hiit workouts
You’re so right that we must not follow the government recommendations. Low carb, no sugar, plenty veges, plenty exercises like long distance trekking (3-4 hrs @ ~5.5 km/hr daily), good sleep, calming yourself, no alcohol no smoking …… this really works.
I simply love you doctor. You have clarified a lot of questions I had. Before. I don’t want to be diabetic! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge🙏🏼❤️🇲🇽🙏🏼❤️🇲🇽🙏🏼❤️
I found your channel 2 weeks ago, I’ve learned so much about keto, IF, and diabetes that yesterday when my doctor officially diagnosed me with type 2 w/hyperglycemia I wasn’t even worried. He put me on medication and I came home and looked at the material. I’m already down 6lbs since starting keto two weeks ago.. do I take this medicine, or continue with my healthy keto journey only? Surprisingly, my doctor told me to continue KETO, but sent me home with a paper of what to eat and it’s completely high carb, wanting me to cut out all meat except chicken.. I’ve decided to not take his medicine. My A1C is 10%. I’ll be knocking this down to the suggested 5% and below with keto only in the next 4 months. I’m declaring this thing reversed in Jesus name! Thank you Dr Berg.
superb! thanks very much Dr. Sten.
I started this low carb / no sugar diet 3 weeks ago and I’m finding my BG is on a roller coaster. Its been hard to keep BG around 105-118’s. Starting from the 168 its an improvement. Your right it takes time to get to the 90’s. Exercise does burn a lot of sugar off, but it can drop your BG down to 70’s to 80’s. Thanks for the info its helping me a bunch! 🙂
I want to express my gratitude to you for producing such informative life changing videos, over the past year I have lost nearly 100 lbs and I have been taken off all my medications for type 2 diabetes, I most certainly include your channel when asked how did I do it. I am an Native American Indian I pray more People everywhere would lend an ear to your channel.
Respectfully,
Assistant Chief Johnson

Thank you for your highly informative videos, Dr. Sten. I’ve been a devoted student of your teachings ever since I stumbled on your channel, 6 months ago. I watch several of them each day and walk away very enlightened after each viewing. Because of you, I’ve been practicing LCHF and IF daily, and the results for me has been simply amazing! My only battle now is my high BP, which I’m already seeing some major reduction in, which I attribute to the Keto lifestyle and IF. I’m down to an average of 145/90 from 170/101, and I’m shooting for lower still! Thanks again, Doc, and keep up the great work!
Thank you Doctor Sten for the simple explanations on how low carb and good fats in the diet can help reduce insulin dependence and lower A1c’s. I have been doing the Keto diet for two weeks, religiously, morning sugar readings are still high 250 to 350 but during the day it comes down to around 200. I am still taking the Janumet twice a day, and these readings are without the 30 units of insulin prescribed by my MD. The lowest my blood sugar has ever been is in the 150 range. I am sticking to it though and trying to remind myself that the sugar can stay in the blood for a while. I think my liver is going gangbusters over night. I am also not eating breakfast, not really hungry in the mornings, so I am down to two meals per day.
Lewis Johnson I appreciate your comment and congratulate you on your weight loss and journey back to better health. Such kind, humble energy coming from you makes me smile 😊 I am from native American (South American Carib) extraction and diabetes is a growing trend.
I have a serious question, but no one I have talked to can give me an answer. I have a 91 fasting blood sugar and a 4.7 A1C, yet my triglycerides are 108. Is it possible to have insulin resistance? Also, recently had a HS-CRP done and it is also high.
Wish I could get some kind of answer without having to do a glucose to tolerance test and drink a bunch of sugar water.
I’m 32 diagnosed with t2D although my sugar is in control through intermittent fasting
Type 2 for 5 years, metformin. Went down 70 lbs. Did intermittent fasting 6 months ago and was nearly reversed. Now, today, a1c was a 10 today, bg 275. I had gotten sloppy during covid19.
Thank you, Dr Ekberg for your dedication in helping the public understand and make sense (and the truth) of health issues (which sadly many medical doctors don’t seem to be doing that). This empowers one to make better informed choices. Your YouTube videos have become my daily health classes and have prompted me to make changes for a healthier body. You explain with such clarity and simplicity in a calm voice that you have a number of ‘students’/subscribers in Singapore 🇸🇬! I’ve shared your channel with many others and they found them useful and an eye opener.
Keep up the good work!! 👍
(P.S. Your videos are just excellent without any background music.)
@Falhawk73 a1c only went down to 9, because I started eating carbs again I suppose. Was prescribed metformin to help me and I lost 5 lbs on that the first week of taking it. But it has side effects like gastro issues. I’m going to start taking it again though because it’s not good for a1c to be this high for so long. It’s at 9 now.
Hi dr my glucose likes to stay in the 4’s (regardless of what I eat) but I start to get cold and a little anxious with anything below 4.8. I’m wondering how I can get my glucose to stay in the 5’s and not the 4’s! Any recommendations? I use to have reactive hypos but since being in the process of healing my Candida I haven’t had sudden drops (so far that I know of, or have felt)
Could you also do a video on gut health and insulin resistance/hypoglycaemia
💕
Hi Doc, I watch many of your videos and are greatfull for all that I leaned so far. My gucose levels drop from 8.5 to around 6. Sorry my meter use different units, I am not sure how to convert it to the units you normally referred to. My question is really about the high fat, I know it is good for revering diabetes but what is the effect on an enlarged prostate? Most of the videos do not take two conditions into concideration. I would be most greatfull if you could make a video on combining the two. Which type of diet will serve both purposes?
Nice , can you help me also on how did you do that
Exactly
My Dad has always been borderline type 2 diabetic. When he got in his 70 ‘s none of the things he used to do would work to get his high blood sugar down .So he decided to try the wheat belly diet and it worked like a charm .He also noticed that his arthritis ,sciatica and canker sores magically went away .He didn’t need to take 10 L -lysine tablets a day any longer .
Thanks a lot, Doc! Is it safe for patients with heart trouble as well as type 2 diabetes to eat the fats you recommend? Can diabetes be reversed in this way?
@Amazing Grace what is wheat belly diet? Would you please explain to me. Much of appreciation
Ever since I started watching your videos, and applying what you say, I’ve gone down fro 204 pounds to 195 in about 3 weeks. I’m not a diabetic but I purchase a meter to measure my blood sugar in the morning fasting, and in 14 days I’m averaging 80 Mg/dL I cut the carbs, and high fats. I want to buy grass fed meat, and butter but it’s hard to find. What I want to know is that if it’s alright to once in a while eat a piece of cake. I don’t eat process foods, or eat fast foods. I eat once in a while rice, or bread but whole wheat grain, but mostly I eat vegetables, and meat. I really like your videos, like the way you explain things, and it’s really giving me results. Before when I made my oat meal I would use 3 tablespoons of light brown sugar, now I only use 1 tablespoon. I cut of the sugar almost completely. I don’t drink sodas, or sugary drinks. I only drink orange juice, but just a little bit, but is it true that they don’t add sugars to it? I drink tropicana, or Wegman’s brand. I would love to send you a list of my progress to see what you think.
@Dr. Sten Ekberg What about if the low carbs is slow releasing foods?
I started listening to Sten about 6 months ago. I have lost 30 lbs, 4 inches of waist, more mental clarity, lower BP, I feel better than I have years. 35 years ago, 5 graft bypass, two angioplasty events, 30 and 34 years ago. Thank you. You have helped me more than I believe. May God bless you, for you have blessed me!
@Journey2Zee 1 year later, how is it going for you, have you had any success?
I congratulate you and Dr. Ekberg and your example give me hope for a brighter future!
Prescribing pills is what vast majority of doctors believe make them doctors.
And it’s true, only doctors can prescribe. So now it’s the hallmark of their profession. They rely on it so much, they know they would have no job otherwise.
We need to deregulate sale of prescription medication (other than narcotics). US is one of few countries that restricts purchase of drugs.
Getting rid of this exclusivity will force MDs to rethink their profession.
So according to you no wheat no rice no lentils but only vegetable and chicken and eggs and coconut oil or butter or olive oil etc then I think diet will be boring 😭😭
@Bold Man Heres the deal, once you go use to low carb (veggis, berries, beef, pork, chicken, butter, nuts) its becomes second nature. Once you get insulin resistance under control you can eat small amounts of rice, potatoes, in a well balance meal and not have issues.
Update?
@Bold Man It is mostly in your mind… You owe it to yourself to at least give it the old college try. He is right, it is not as bad as you think. In one of his videos Dr. discusses what to do if Keto is going wrong for you. This is a gem. You will learn how to go straight to feeling good. Give it a true 7 day challenge. Your body might not want to go back to how it was before once you see what it feels like to your brain and body.
Yes, my mom is a neurologist and metformin for example if you lose weight you probably won’t need it and your diabetes type 2 will be gone just by losing the weight so yes
Excellent info! Thank you Doc for sharing.
@Eds pineda e
@Truth Observer oru
@Bold Man well… you have to choose… boring for good health… or… actually vegetables are not boring…. How you prepare them… makes it interesting.. goggle recipes
Oh dear…
3-4 hours? That’s a lot of time even for me and I am retired. 😊
