I’ve followed so many of these communities over the years: HCLF, HFLC, vegan, keto, carnivore, etc. And it’s interesting to see the evolution over time. My prediction is that everyone is going to end up back at the much maligned food pyramid of the 1950s. ๐
@Strong.Sistas Okay? But at the 30k-foot view, a varied and balanced diet to include all macros is what works. Basically, the OG food pyramid prior to the mass production of highly processed “foods”. Everyone just ditch the Twinkies! Do they even make those anymore? ๐

@Data Ninja that’s pretty much what this podcast is about. Eating in a balanced way with all 3 macros. There aren’t any vegan cultures or 100% true carnivore cultures that thrived for generations. You can do carnivore and get all your macros if you drink milk. Peat is not against this, but not everyone wants to eat this way, not everyone should. I agree that most people eating these strict diets will come back to a more balanced way of eating at some point.
I love these podcasts about balancing/healing the metabolism. You always ask great questions. Love how you bring in other aspects beyond diet in the healing process. So important. ๐๐ฅฐ

@Jill Herrmann I think Ray peat talks about not eating too much muscle meat because of the phosphate and calcium ratio as well as recommending sugar.

Me too! I just noticed recently how I never bake anymore o go through Pinterest! I naively thought I was the only one lol. Before not one week would go by without me baking something or bingeing on sweets!

Thanks for all the info. I been keto for 3 years not strict. I believe in having flexible metabolism, so I’m moving on as well. But I feel keto and carnivore or even fasting (when done correctly ,not in extremes) are tools to help the body heal, in order to reach that flexibility you guys are talking about. A very sick individual, like must of us used to be ,will not thrive with this method . I think we should acknowledge that as well.

You guys are blowing my mind right now!!! I TANKED my metabolism on Keto/carnivore and my body was SCREAMING for carbs. Thank you, “Sistas”, for speaking the truth and having on these amazing guests.
Yeah, I haven’t had the desire or need for carbs lately. I’ve been on the carnivore diet for about 3 years now and started listening to your Podcast maybe about 2 years ago or less, when I was having issues with carbs being compulsive about carbs and a deep desire for carbs, addiction to carbs. But since watching your journey and staying carnivore I slowly lost my desire for them. I don’t have a real need for them. I’ve been going to the gym and have maintained my energy level. I do HiiT every day before I either do cardio vascular or high intensity weight lifting. The only thing that changes my energy level is when my sleep is not on point which happens occasionally living in the city. Sometime I’ll eat carbs, like 6 months ago I tricked myself into eating a bag of chips because the chips were made with Olive oil or Avocado oil (so it should be better for you, right?) but other than that, I’ve been pretty happy without carbs. I know your journey to health is a little different than mine, but I really have to thank you for helping me get off of carbohydrates, it has made my life a lot easier with more time on my hands when I have to cook less often and made it a lot easier to maintain my weight as well as made my life more stable and far less distracted living in a busy city.

This was INCREDIBLE. Heard this a while back on carnivore and never thought I would be pro metabolic. Balance your blood sugar ladies. Itโs the only way to fix your body and hormones. Been pricking my finger upon waking and before and after my biggest meals or the ones I am most curious about and this has given more more information about my health than anything I have tried. Things are feeling better, mood is more stable. Canโt wait to see in few months how things have changed for the better
