You make is so easy:) I love the point about the brain and the ‘all or nothing’ mentality; good habits happen over time with practice, not overnight. Also, we don’t need to be *on* a diet – need to strive for a healthy diet in general. Like you say, it’s a lifestyle shift. It’s kind of like, if I feel overwhelmed because the house is a mess. It really is easier doing a little at a time, maybe one or two rooms, rather than thinking I have to work myself to the bone to get it all sparkling top to bottom – a little at a time, until it becomes easier to keep it managed.
Thank you for uploading this just in time. My Day 1 of losing weight actually begins tomorrow. Perfect perfect timing. Thank you so much Dani. Very helpful with no B.S just straight to the point and achievable.
So glad it was helpful. Thank you for watching.
Yes. I’m all about the baby steps. 😉
I have lost 50 pounds so far and I have to give some credit to you. I totally changed the way I eat. I love your 101 videos and have made many of your recipes. Thank you!! 🤗
THIS is why I follow you, Dani! Smart thinking and no radical stuff to deal with. I love your last one on eating with family and loving what you eat. That is so true and doesn’t hurt to do at times. THANK YOU!
Thanks Dani! Good timing and great message… especially about avoiding the all or nothing mentality. I am soooo guilty of this!
Thank you Dani! Been on this journey about 7 months. Started cardiac rehab and finished that and moved to a gym. Your tips, videos, and recipes are becoming some of my back pocket favorites. I appreciate your help with this all. I may be 60…but I am committed to improving!
I used to be pretty healthy but then I started studying even more what I was eating. Now oatmeal, chia seeds, and avocados are staples. So are Buddha bowls, fresh veggies and fruit. I love this new journey. I feel amazing. You are what you eat after all! 😉 👋🏼Great tips!!!
Xx

Some of the best health advice out there👍
Wow! This is amazing! I was always stuck in the diet mentality and this really helped me out. Took notes and will definitely be adding these to my healthy eating arsenal. Thanks!
Thank you for this video! I love that you go into the mentality of a healthy lifestyle because that’s where I feel the most struggle. Addressing them in a way that’s forgiving, loving, and growing is the best advice I’ve gotten about making a change in my life.
Absolutely the reason i keep failing
Kudos for the video content! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard about – Dinanlinson Natural Beauty Approach (should be on google have a look)? It is a great one off product for learning what to eat to look younger without the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend Sam finally got cool results with it.
This was one of the first healthy lifestyle videos I’ve seen that has felt really realistic, or achievable! I like how you emphasised “most of the time” as we’re all human at the end of the day and it’s ok to have the odd treat! I struggled with binge eating and comfort eating all throughout my teens and I’m just starting to change my habits, I’m sure this video will help so much. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼😊 x
I’m crying my eyes out. I needed this. I’m trying to have a healthier lifestyle because diabetes and high blood pressure runs in the family. Plus I have an anxiety disorder. I went to a doctor on Friday and she basically judged me because I’m not fast enough in losing weight (I started a new diet with a Profesional nutritionist, I’m in my 3rd month) and the way she said made me feel so bad, I’ve been in a terrible mood for the last few days. Feeling guilt about what I eat, if I get hungry, watching everything I eat in an unhealthy way. I talked with my nutritionist about this and she calmed me down, but I was still anxious. And watching this just made me burst into tears. Thank you for teaching in such a kind and empathetic way.
Angelica Wilson honestly people like that aren’t worth the effort just ignore them
My sister and me are starting to eat healthy but I can’t eat avacados
@Raven D.G.A.F same i know what you mean but working at healthy changes every day also goodluck to you with being more healthy every day
Thank you for a tremendously helpful video. Wife and girls (now in the twenties) all struggled with eating and eating disorders. I would say I’ve struggled with disordered eating. For the past two years I’ve been trying to get on board with intuitive eating. Your video seems 100% in line with that philosophy. It’s a huge undertaking. The all bought the workbook and the book and are very dedicated. I’m 55 and having issues with gout, plantar fasciitis, and acid reflex. I feel like they are all part of the same issue. I really could use your help. Do you do consultation work? Any suggestions?
bro. just eat 10 burger king whoppers and all the fat goes away. trust me
just have some wendy’s 16 biggie bags and you’ll be so skinny you’ll barely see yourself
It’s really hard when you still live with your parents and you have to eat whatever is for dinner
And what that is, is most of the time really unhealthy
Congratulations
This was the best beginners video on transitioning to clean eating that I’ve watched!! Thanks so much for your thorough explanations!!
I like calorie counting but i get how it may not be the best for everyone. I don’t eat alot, I have mental illnesses that sometimes when I’m in a crisis I don’t feel hungry for days (So I can’t do intuitively eating or follow my hunger), which leads me to passing out. amd I also feel very nauseous all the time because of my tumor treatment (which also doesn’t make me want to eat) , so I started calorie counting so I can meet my daily calorie count. (so it’s not about restrictions for me). I don’t force myself to eat or not eat. In the beginning I just observed, and my daily calorie intake to maintain weight is 1500 (I weight 121 now), and I noticed that some days I had as little as 600 calories. And now when I meet my calorie count for a meal I feel happy! I have an app called Lifesum, it’s much more focused on health then calories.
Me watching this because I decided I wanted to get my life together in the middle of the night
Calorie and macro counting has been transformational for me. I am not limited in any way, shape of form, and know exactly what I’m eating. I’ve lost 20 pounds, no longer over-eat, and have learnt portion control.
A lot of things I used to eat suddenly stepped into the light as not being very good.
You just have to have balance. Have a takeaway every now and again, or treat yourself to days where you don’t count at all.
That’s awesome!
Breakfast: Sweet potato, egg and zucchini with avocado
Snack: Chia parfait with berries, nuts, honey
Lunch: Salmon, potato, green beans
Snack: Dried fruit and nuts
Dinner: Chicken, potato with cabbage, kale, broccoli
Snack: Peanut butter and banana with chamomile tea
Saturdays: 1 small dessert after lunch
Make this meal plan a daily habit for a well balanced diet
You’re really knowledgeable and honest. Thanks so much for the information. I had started eating healthy, did it twice and gave up without even noticing. Went back to my addiction of heavy processed food but I am more determined than ever to start again and maintain this hopefully for the rest of my life. Subscribing ☺️
@Ann Gayle can you eat any other vegetables? There is so many ways to incorporate zucchini, tomato’s etc into recipes.
If you have a healthy deficit you will lose weight and it will be sustainable. The only way you lose weight is a calorie deficit its just the way the human body works. If you eat less than you bur you’ll lose wieght.
yup! and I agree with you!
thanks
Loved your video.

Hi. I just read your comment and I’m writing to you a year on. How are you doing now.
@Aunt Purl Their god is their belly.
@Crazy Pinata You do not know everyones situation.
@Ida-Chan watchuu mean. I mean unless there is something literally stopping you from cooking for yourself. Just doooo it
100%!! I can relate
Me
Breakfast: McDonald’s burger
Snack: tub of chocolate ice cream
Lunch: KFC bucket
Snack: McDonald’s Big Mac meal
Dinner: Domminos extra large pizza
Yummy 🙂
@edenjo Some people may find this counter intuitive but eating fast food every once in a while its actually good for you because complete healthy foods can be boring and unhealthy for the mind. The cravings can be silenced only for so long and if you think about it every once in a while won’t hurt at all.
T is doing
Ty
Yea

@GForceIntel tl;dr: healthy foods boring, cravings so rampant that you feed into them to silence them
if your cravings are so strong i think you need help
Omgg so freakin true in that situation now. 😭
Yeahhh, I struggle with this too. My doctor wants me to cut rice out of my diet but my parents and my grandma won’t listen. I’ve explained it nicely
Keep at it! Slow and steady wins the race! You’ve got this! You’re approaching this from the right angle. I am so sorry the dr. Made you feel less than. This is not an easy road! Give yourself lots of grace!
Hope you’re doing well, Sandra!
