Dear DR
That was an excellent description & treatment plan
which I personally didn’t know ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Just what I needed, fairly comprehensive and still practically useful. Thanks Dr.
Finally a useful YT Video! I liked this Doctor. Easy to follow and well explained!
Great instruction. Super presentation. Thank you, Doctor. 🌺
At the deeper on the tongue i have white colour.
Great presentation. I’ve been dealing with oral thrush for about 2 months. Pretty sure that I got it from being over medicated with antibiotics and steroids for a bronchitis condition. Also used an inhaler so that probably just added to the exposure. Been taking Fluconazole (100 mg) 1x’s/day for over one month and still have it but seems to be improving. Also doing the salt water mouth rinse and watching sweets. Doesn’t seem like I’ll ever get over this. Wish Dr. Nemeth was down here in Illinois.
Dr. Nemeth thank you so much for providing useful and factual information about this common, yet often dismissed condition. I appreciate it!!! 🦷🦷🦷😁😁😁👨⚕️🥼
You are very welcome! I am glad it was helpful.

I came to the comments to say the same!
Best I have seen ..Simple & easy to follow. Thank you
Very informative, this doctor doesn’t sell product. He is interested in our well-being. Thank you so much.
My son used Asthma spray, later he had this “white film”. Now we understand. Thanks a lot for sharing this.
Excellent tips! And for those that may need the following advice brushing the tongue is very important but it needs to be with a brush designed for the tongue. You can find them on Amazon and I’m sure lots of other places. Tongue scrapers are another good tool for one’s dental tool box and many don’t realize but you should be washing your tools with soap and water before and after using them. They are NOT self cleaning tools and they CAN harbor lots of bacteria and yeast otherwise. Also mouthwashes such as Scope are terrible for the mouth, the hydrogen and water mix is good or other non-alcohol mouth washes. Good luck everyone and may you be healthy! 🙂
@Srikanth Alichetty Have you had your tonsils looked at? I had so many issues with my mouth from Sjogren’s, plus thrush, tonsil stones, etc. I finally had to them taken out at age 62, and it was well worth it! Drink warm, not cold water, after wards. It wasn’t that bad!
@Carlton Smith Turned out that I didn’t have it after all. The ENT doctor that I first met with didn’t give me a very good diagnosis. In fact, during my initial visit he didn’t even want to look at my tongue! After this I saw my very qualified/knowledgeable dentist and he gave me a full and thorough oral exam. He said that he saw no sign of Candida at all. After this exam, I’ve had no further problems. I should have thought about seeing my dentist from the beginning!
This was a very informative video. I never really noticed how white my tongue was until someone pointed it out. I have really bad allergies which intern cause me to use an inhaler along with other allergy medicines and I’m prone to sinus infections so I’m on antibiotics more often than most people. I’ve cleaned up my diet but my tongue is white. Going to try the solutions mentioned.
@TheGman2421 late reply sorry, but if you didn’t have Candida, do you know what was causing the thrush on your tongue in the end?
@TheGman2421 what did you have then?
If all Doctors were just like you, the world could be a better place.
Antibiotics depletes your good bacteria, so bad breath is a result. You have to replenish your good bacteria with probiotics.
He mentioned a product for oral rinse.
I was in the hospital and on a respirator for 5 weeks (in a coma) and the feeding tubes they had me on gave me a severe infection in my mouth and throat. The oral nystatin did NOTHING and I asked for a bottle of peroxide. Took me nearly a day and a heck of a fight to get one as the hospital didn’t see it would help. Thankfully, I was able to get a bottle and it started to work on the infection. It’s been nearly a year since In got out and I still have voice problems from it eating at my throat. I do herbal supplements to eat the scar tissue it left behind too. Slowly getting there…yeah, that Covid was a bear!!
@Kathryn Willette really after tonsilectomy does your breath become normal?
I’m waiting for your reply
@Grok ok as a suggestion most likely
@Red SoulTwin i have White tongue and bad breath
Thank you for posting this informative video. Dr. Nemeth how many times a day or in what intervals do you recommend performing this peroxide rinse?
Best Regards
Hello,, tooth brush,🤦🏼♂️🤦🏾♂️🤢
I tried a plastic tongue scraper it wasn’t effective to remove the white coating on my tongue, the scaly coating I have. I tried brushing it with the same toothbrush I brush my teeth with. My teeth do hurt at times, some parts of my mouth when brushing, so I’m not sure if it’s because I need to clean my toothbrush more or change it, or maybe the coating on my tongue is causing it. I’ll have a look on Amazon for brushes that clean the tongue. Thanks 🙏🏻
Finally! I’ve had this for years and never knew it was my asthma inhaler causing it. Thanks so much Doc
@Sam Horton I always was told to rinse my mouth after taking my inhaler and then when I was in the hospital and taking meds, the guy giving them told me certain inhalers are better than others and it didn’t matter if I rinsed or not and I think he is right. He explained that whatever medicine they put in it to make it go into your lungs is what causes the thrush. (Like the force action.) Advair or Albuterol is what I was on, I forget which one was better…but research and see maybe, it might help. I had used both for long periods and I definitely got more thrush using one over the other.
@L G lol
